Step into the world of Runway Magazine for this glamorous, fashion-themed cookie decorating workshop in Manchester – a sparkling celebration of the Devil Wears Prada sequel and everything we loved about early '00s style.
Your host, with over ten years of decorating experience, will guide you through the fundamentals of royal icing from the very beginning. You'll discover how to outline, flood, and add fine details to your biscuits, and learn how different icing consistencies behave and what each one is used for. From there, you'll work through techniques that range from beginner to intermediate level – all at your own pace, with plenty of support along the way.
It's a hands-on, joyful couple of hours that's as much about the laughs and the nostalgia as it is about the skill-building – and you'll leave with both.
Each guest takes home:
  • A box of six biscuits you decorated in class
  • A welcome biscuit from your host
  • A gift voucher
  • A brand new skill you'll be reaching for long after the class is done
Whether you're a longtime fan of the film, a complete biscuit-decorating beginner, or just looking for a feel-good, one-of-a-kind experience to share with friends, this one's for you. Cerulean blue apron optional.

FAQ

Are the biscuits vegan friendly?
Yes!
Are the biscuits halal friendly?
Also, yes!
Are the biscuits gluten free?
Unfortunately not. We use plain (wheat) flour in our biscuits and since this is air born we can not guarantee that biscuits made with an alternative, gluten free flour would be free of cross contamination
See more FAQs
Is the space accessible?
Yes. It is on the first floor but there is a platform lift by the entrance as well as an accessible toilet.
Will snacks and drinks be provided?
The venue has a stunning bar & restaurant, so we recommend arriving slightly earlier and grabbing yourself a drink. Drink orders will also be taken partway through the class should anyone like another. The venue is also right in the heart of Manchester's historic Gay Village, in the city centre, so you will have a plethora of choices for eating out and having a drink before or after the workshop.
Where do I park?
There is a paid NCP parking facility on Chorlton Street, right by the venue.
Is it dog friendly?
You can bring a small, well behaved dog.

  • 5/5 from Hanna, attended May 2026: I had such a fantastic time at the Coy Biscuit decorating class! From the moment it started, the environment was friendly, relaxed, and full of creativity. Esi was amazing—so patient, encouraging, and clearly passionate about what she does. She broke down each decorating technique step by step, making it easy to follow along, even for someone with no prior experience. I learned so many helpful tips and tricks that I can’t wait to use again at home. All the supplies were beautifully prepared, and there was a great variety of colors and designs to experiment with. It was so satisfying to see my cookies come to life, and I was genuinely proud of what I made by the end. Overall, it was a fun, hands-on experience that I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a creative and enjoyable activity. I’d definitely love to do it again!
  • 5/5 from Caroline Clark, attended May 2026: Esi was beyond well prepared and had everything set out and ready on our arrival (even including a hand wet wipe and a sample cookie to taste). She took us through the process step-by-step. Most enjoyable.

Coy Biscuit is a Manchester-based micro bakery known for its elegant, hand-iced biscuits, born out of a love of baking and a background in illustration.
Since 2017, Coy Biscuit has been offering people a way to elevate their gifting and events through beautifully crafted, vegan & halal-friendly biscuits that are anything but novelty. Our offerings include branded/bespoke biscuits, workshops and live personalisation stations, where I personalise pre-iced biscuits with names or fun little messages of the guests choosing for them to keep or gift to others.
We have worked brands such as Nike, H&M, TikTok, Amazon, Malibu, Asos and Converse to name a few clients. Some famous names that have been gifted biscuits from us include Paul McCartney, Kerry Washington and Kim Kardashian!
Book a Coy biscuit workshop for your next event, such as a hen do or corporate event and learn how to ice your very own custom biscuits, guided by myself, the founder & owner, Esi!
