On the day I was given a choice of designs to carve into Portland limestone and I chose a dragon. The tuition was excellent throughout the two days and tea, coffee and biscuits were included.

We were novices, never attempted stone sculpture before and fully enjoy. Location was perfect too. 100% recommend and do again.

Miranda is a wonderful teacher- patient and has a great eye for detail. More importantly, she pushes you to continue to perfect your piece, when it would be all to easy to stop and settle for less- and I didn't regret it at all. Taking lots of photos as you go helps you to realise the progress you're making, and keeps you motivated to carry on improving your work.

The setting was beautiful and we were lucky enough, thanks to the weather, to work outside for the 2 days. Miranda was a fantastic teacher, very encouraging and complementary, honing in on where you were at and directing you at each and every step. She was easy to understand and very helpful, I can't praise her enough. I have always wanted to try working with stone and now I have an insight into the methods and skills used by sculptors. Oh and I also have a beautiful owl that I sculpted myself sat in my living room. An amazing course - don't even think about it, just do it, you won't regret it.
