One-to-one Cricut Workshop

Join us in store and talk to a craft expert for tips and advice on your Cricut machine or project!

1 hour Class size 1 on 1       £28

Join a Hobbycraft Colleague one-to-one and ask any questions you have about your Cricut machine! Stuck on a project? Need help with Design Space? Trying to get to grips with using a new material? Our craft expert will share tips and techniques tailored to you.

This is suitable for all Cricut users, providing the opportunity to get all the answers you need about your machine. Whether you’re crafting with a Maker, a Joy, Joy Xtra or an Explore machine, you’ll be able to get excellent insight for all kinds of projects. It’s a great way to get a feel for your new machine or learn about features you’re not as confident with yet.
During the booking process, you’ll have the opportunity to let your Hobbycraft Colleague know what you would like to focus on during the session. They’ll be able to prepare for a personalised workshop that answers all of your questions.
You’re sure to walk away a Cricut crafting pro, ready to start making your next big project!

Bring a friend: You can now use the £5 add-on feature at checkout to invite a friend along with you, whether you’re working on a project together or you’d simply prefer having some company during the session. Your friend can enjoy any demonstrations given, and they are free to ask questions, but they will not receive the same practical, direct one-to-one support as is offered to the lead participant.

Please note: If you would like to discuss the Foil Transfer Tool, Knife Blade, “Print Then Cut” feature, “Curved Text” feature or “Offset” we would recommend that you book on to one of our online one-to-one Cricut workshop sessions as we are currently unable to demonstrate these features in-store due to them being for the desktop version of Design Space only.

Please note, our workshop spaces in some stores are located in open areas and we will endeavour to minimise interruption from other crafters.

Keeping everyone safe

At Hobbycraft, we want our workshops to be enjoyable, inclusive, and safe for everyone. Some workshops are suitable for children, and where this is the case, a parent or legal guardian is responsible for supervising their child at all times unless the workshop is clearly stated as suitable for independent attendance. Our colleagues and instructors are there to guide the activity and support a safe environment, and if any concerns about safety or wellbeing arise during a workshop, these should be raised with a member of staff straight away.

  • 2/5 from Nichola Johnstone, attended Aug 2026: When I signed up for the workshop, I fully expected it to be a hands on session being guided by your member of staff not sat watching what he did. I explained I was a complete Novice when it came to using my Cricut Machine and the session was primarily to get a better understanding of Design Space. I also explained the type of crafts I plan to make (Cards and lettering to print on vinyl to be used on bottles, bags and T-Shirts) but was met with "Well I don't particularly like making cards and the market is saturated with this type of craft, so if you're planning on selling, bear that in mind." Whilst I understand his comment, it wasn't necessary or asked for. He began to throw some shapes (and not the dance floor variety!) into the design space template with no explanation as to what he was doing, or the options he was selecting. Neither was it relevant to what I would like to make. I asked him if he could show me how to do a border instead which he did, but again didn't really explain what he was doing or let me do it with his guidance. The workshop was heId on the main shop floor with the display Cricut machines, where we were constantly interrupted by members of the public asking where things were. This was as you can imagine extremely annoying given I'd paid £28 for this persons time and ultimately wasn't getting the full hour. I'm very disappointed with the overall experience. For me to attend the Stockport shop was in total a 90 minute round trip, and by the end of the hour I was no more clued up than when I arrived. I spent around 30 mins in the shop afterwards browsing and purchased a few items. But I'll have to seek online videos and tutorials in order to help me understand how to do what I need to do. I would appreciate a response to this feedback and a full refund. Regards, Nichola
  • 2/5 from Mohamed Elhawary, attended Aug 2026: I booked this one-to-one session because my first conversation with the instructor was genuinely excellent. Before booking, I explained that my daughter was a complete beginner. We didn’t even know which machine to buy or where to start. The instructor was very clear and gave us confidence. He explained that he would help us choose the right machine, teach us how to use it properly, create a structured learning plan, give my daughter assignments to work on between sessions, review her progress at the next lesson, answer her questions, and even provide guidance on how she could eventually monetise her skills. Based on that conversation, I was happy to book and even paid extra for one of my daughters because I believed we would receive a proper private lesson. Unfortunately, the actual experience was nothing like what had been discussed. The session took place in the middle of the shop, with customers constantly walking past. It didn’t feel like a private one-to-one lesson at all. It felt more like asking someone a few questions while they were working in a store. The instructor was also answering questions from other people at the same time, so we never had his full attention. Rather than teaching a structured lesson, my wife felt she had to keep pulling information out of him by asking question after question. There was no clear plan, no step-by-step teaching, no assignments, no roadmap, and no guidance beyond answering whatever we happened to ask. My daughter came away feeling that she had learned very little, which was extremely disappointing considering we had waited around 4–6 weeks for this appointment and had booked it based on the excellent expectations set beforehand. The biggest disappointment wasn’t the instructor’s knowledge—I still believe he is knowledgeable—but the complete difference between what was promised before payment and what was actually delivered after payment. Sadly, I cannot recommend this one-to-one session based on my experience.

Kieron is a fantastic teacher, he is very calm and friendly and answered all of my questions. It felt like I was talking to a friend rather than a teacher which put me at ease and I was able take in the information. I came home and was able to make my first project after the workshop. I will definitely book more workshops at Hobbycraft as they are so affordable and fun. Thanks Kieron

  • 5/5 from Louise Rowlands, attended Oct 2022: Great 1 to 1 Cricut session at Stockport on Saturday. Picked up lots of little tips and the lady (sorry can't remember her name) was very informative and helpful. Would definitely recommend if you have a Cricut!
  • 5/5 from Sharon Harland-Holmes, attended Sep 2022: We couldn’t cover what it was I wanted to do however we filled the hour designing cake toppers, using one mat for four colours of vinyl and talking through the terminology of the Cricut world. Want to try a different class now and widen my craft skills even further
  • 4/5 from Barbara Mansell, attended Sep 2022: The teacher was really good, my only complaint was the workshop was in the middle of the store and the teacher kept getting interrupted by customers asking where things were, so not really a one to one 1hr lesson. Not the teachers fault. Maybe find a place where you can have your workshop without interpretations every 5 minutes.
