Paper Plate Lithography Workshop

Ralph Overill introduces the fundamentals of lithography during this low-fi and dynamic session.

2.5 hours Class size 1 to 10 guests       £40 (PayPal Pay in 3 available)

Come along to our lithography workshop in Glasgow! The lithographic printing process relies on the principle that oil and water resist each other, and traditionally, designs would be prepared on stone or metal plates.
Using basic toner-based photocopies or printouts, you can use a similar approach to quickly experiment with this versatile image-making technique. No experience is needed to join -- just creativity and curiosity!
You will be introduced to fast, exciting ways of reproducing and manipulating imagery using layers of colour to create a series of works on paper. Take away a series of your own multi-colour prints, collaged designs and an appetite for what this fun and versatile process can offer.
What you'll get
  • All materials and aprons provided.
  • Hands-on guidance and help throughout the creative process.
  • Your finished prints to take away and cherish!
Knowledge required
No prior printmaking or artistic knowledge is needed for our classes; they are designed to encourage complete beginners to get their hands inky.
What to bring
  • We recommend wearing clothes you don't mind getting a bit inky!
  • A large part of the class will be collaging with different images and materials, so feel free to bring your own reference photos, sketches, and newspaper or magazine cuttings to play with.
