Gather Your Materials
You will need a plain or recycled Christmas bauble, patterned napkins, decoupage medium, scissors, a soft paintbrush and ribbons to decorate!
Cut, Stick and Layer
Cut your chosen napkin into small squares or shapes. Carefully separate the layers, keeping only the printed top layer. Brush a thin layer of decoupage medium onto the bauble. Place a piece of napkin onto the glue and gently smooth it down with your brush. Continue overlapping the pieces until the bauble is completely covered.
Seal and Decorate
Once your bauble is covered, gently apply a final thin layer of decoupage medium to seal your design Leave to dry completely before adding a colourful ribbon or bow. Your beautiful, handmade Christmas decoration is ready to hang!

Your teacher
I've always had a passion for art and creativity, which led me to pursue a career as an Art teacher. After nine years of teaching, I decided to take my love of art beyond the classroom and open my own creative studio, The Art H.O.O.D.I wanted to create a welcoming, relaxed space where people of all ages and abilities could come together, try something new and enjoy being creative without the pressure of having to be 'good at art'.As a mum of two young boys, opening my own studio has also been an exciting opportunity to build something of my own alongside family life. The name H.O.O.D is particularly special to me, as it comes from the initials of me, my husband and our two boys.One of the things I love most about teaching is seeing people's confidence grow. There is something really rewarding about watching someone go from saying "I'm not creative" or "I can't draw" to producing something they're genuinely proud of.I believe everyone has the ability to be creative, and I love encouraging people to experiment, try new techniques and discover what they enjoy. Art isn't always about the finished piece; it's about the process, taking time for yourself and enjoying something different.Whether I'm teaching children or adults, I want everyone to leave feeling inspired, relaxed and proud of what they've achieved.I have a degree in Textiles in Practice and a PGCE in Secondary Teaching, alongside nine years of experience teaching Art in secondary schools.My degree allowed me to explore a wide range of creative techniques and develop my passion for experimenting with different materials, textures and processes.Combining my creative background with my teaching experience means I can offer workshops that are both inspiring and accessible, helping people of all ages and abilities feel confident trying something new.
