Upcycled Homeware Craft Workshop for Beginners

Learn how to use specialist paints and foils to turn neglected ceramics into beautiful objects.

2.5 hours Class size 1 to 10 guests       £35 (PayPal Pay in 3 available)

Learn hands-on paint techniques with Sarah Parmenter from BBC's Money for Nothing in this creative workshop at Didsbury Arts Festival. You'll discover how to transform thrifted household items – vases, crockery, lamp bases, trays – into stylish interior pieces using specialist paints and metallic foils. It's a brilliant way to learn how to reinvent existing things and create beautiful, on-trend accessories without needing a big budget.
This is a beginner-friendly crafternoon where you'll work with items that have been donated and given a second life. Sarah will guide you through paint techniques and share insider tips as you work, but the real joy is in the creative freedom – you're taking something ordinary and making it uniquely yours. All the materials you need are supplied, so you just need to bring yourself and your ideas.
By the end of the workshop, you'll leave with a one-of-a-kind piece you've painted and decorated – a sustainably sourced creation that's entirely your own. Plus, your participation supports Didsbury Arts Festival, so you're creating something beautiful whilst supporting the arts community.
Please note: all ceramics and materials are supplied, and this workshop is suitable for ages 14 and upwards. No previous experience needed.
