What you'll do
Under a characterful railway arch, join in on this wheel-throwing 2-day intensive class at Manchester's first pottery teaching studio. Running for over 25 years, the workshop will be from 10am-4pm Saturday and Sunday each day, and you'll learn the beautiful art of pottery making while enjoying a relaxing and creative activity. You'll go through all the throwing basics from centring, throwing bowls and cylinders, to turning the underneath of your pieces.No previous experience is necessary - although it helps to have taken a taster class. Bring a willingness to have fun learning and get hands-on with clay! This pottery workshop is designed to teach you how to create some beautiful pieces and build your confidence with the pottery wheel.A passionate and experienced teacher at is on hand to help guide you through the process, step by step. They'll show you everything you need to know, making this class ideal for beginners, and also intermediates. You'll practice various pottery techniques and create your own unique pieces, which you'll be able to take home after firing.

Knowledge required
No prior experience is needed, but a fun attitude to learning and the ability to concentrate for long periods. We can improve potters of all levels so this is an excellent class for intermediates wanting to improve their technique, throw bigger, or try more complicated forms.
