If you’re looking to switch off and inject a burst of joy into your week, this is your invitation to get hands-on and get glowing. This workshop is a vibrant, high-energy experience designed to celebrate upcycling and sustainability. Instead of buying new, you'll be breathing dazzling new life into the treasures already in your wardrobe. All materials are provided; you just need to bring your leather or faux leather items to work on.
This isn't just a craft class – it’s a therapeutic escape. You’ll be working with multi-coloured imitation gold leaf foils to turn plain leather or faux leather into something spectacular. The process is incredibly satisfying – from the delicate application of the leaf to the reveal of your shimmering new design. It’s a chance to let your imagination run wild in a supportive, social environment. Whether you're looking to find your people or simply want a mindful activity that helps you relax, this class is the perfect creative tonic.
Absolutely anyone can do this! This class is designed for total beginners, so there are no advanced skills required – just a desire to have fun and a love for all things sparkly. It's a great place to start for:

During the class, you will receive:
  • All specialised gilding materials – This includes adhesives, brushes, and a vast array of dazzling foils.
  • Expert, step-by-step guidance – Everything is delivered in a fun, relaxed atmosphere.
Please note: Please bring your own leather or faux leather footwear or bags only. The gilding will not work on suede or fabric/canvas.

Knowledge required
No skills needed!
What to bring
Bring your own leather or faux leather shoes, boots, trainers or crocs. They can be pre-loved or brand new.
The metallic leaf foils do not stick very well to fabric, canvas or suede, so I do not recommend you bring those types of shoes to the workshop.
Suitable for

This class is great for individuals and couples as well as for a date idea, birthday or hen do.

Suitable for adults, and kids (minimum 9 years old).

An adult must accompany any attending kids, and must pay for a separate ticket.

This experience would also be a creative gift for her, gift for mum, Xmas gift or gift for couples.


FAQ

Will the gilding last?
At the end of the workshop I will give you, amongst other things, a small pot of varnish to apply a couple of coats of decorative protection when you get home. The gilding foils are not of a factory finish standard, it is decorative so if you want to wear your gilded footwear a lot because they look so fantastic, you may want to buy some flexible yacht varnish to give added protection.
Can I gild any type of Shoes in the Shiny Boots workshop?
Only Leather or faux leather type material is suitable for this gilding workshop. The metallic leaf foils do not stick very well to fabric, canvas or suede so I do not recommend you bring those types of shoes to the workshop. I want you to leave happy with your shoes so Leather, Faux leather or Croc type materials only please.

I have also held private shiny boots parties in homes across the North West for those special occasions. It turns out that after 40 years of work, the most rewarding thing I've built is a community that isn't afraid to sparkle!
