After four decades in the workforce, I stepped away with one clear goal: to reignite my creative spirit. I have always been drawn to anything that shimmers, glitters, and shines, but my true "aha!" moment came while scrolling through social media. I fell in love with a pair of metallic Vivienne Westwood Jester boots worn by Fearne Cotton! They were stunning—but far beyond my budget. That "what if" moment sparked a total transformation. I thought, “I can do that myself, ” and reached for the gold leaf. The results were better than I ever imagined. One pair turned into ten, and soon I was completely hooked on the art of gilding. I realized this was a joy I had to share. Taking a leap of faith into a role I’d never tried before, I began hosting Shiny Boots Workshops. Today, these sessions are a thriving space where people can socialize, let their imaginations run wild, and walk away with a unique piece of wearable art. I have also held private shiny boots parties in homes across the North West for those special occasions. It turns out that after 40 years of work, the most rewarding thing I've built is a community that isn't afraid to sparkle!
