Hi, I’m Sue, the founder of Home Petite Home Workshops, and I’m passionate about helping people discover the joy of making and creating.I’ve been crafting for over 30 years, with a particular love of miniatures, arts and crafts, painting and handmade projects. My journey began in the early 1990s with a Victorian miniature house project, which led to commissions for building, painting and decorating dolls’ houses and miniatures.Over the years, my work has taken me into many different areas. I’ve created bespoke miniature pieces, including a dolls’ house for the Royal Doulton Visitors Centre, and my miniature work has been featured in publications including Dolls House World, American Miniaturist and The Dolls House Magazine.Alongside making, I’ve spent many years teaching arts and crafts within the community, something I find incredibly rewarding. I love encouraging people to try something new, develop their skills and, most importantly, grow in confidence.For me, teaching isn’t about whether you consider yourself artistic. It’s about creating a relaxed, welcoming environment where everyone feels comfortable having a go. I love seeing someone arrive saying, “I’m not very creative, ” and leave feeling proud of what they’ve made!My workshops cover a variety of techniques and projects, from miniatures and painting to seasonal crafts and hands-on activities. I enjoy making my classes accessible, enjoyable and suitable for different abilities, while giving everyone the opportunity to put their own personality into what they make.I believe making things is wonderful for our wellbeing, and there’s nothing better than spending time creating something with your own hands, meeting like-minded people and discovering that you can do far more than you thought you could. ️I’d love to welcome you to one of my workshops and help you discover your creative side!
