We took our own food and drink for lunch as there’s not much to buy locally without a longer walk or drive. But we really enjoyed our day.

The teacher Alex was very good and our canvas was ready for us when we arrived. Was really interesting and fun to make our rugs. We practiced at first to get used to the equipment, how to hold it and also how to do curves etc. Would recommend this workshop and it seemed very popular.

Having got far into my piece with not much engagement from tutor was told I had done it wrong and they said ‘I did tell you’ felt that the tone of teaching and enthusiasm for the craft was off.

Alex was very helpful with teaching us all how to use the equipment and was always there to give us a hand when needed. He made sure that everyone was able to finish their piece and had a chance to try out extra techniques to make our rugs look just right.

There was an extensive range of colours for our rugs and we were kindly given plenty of extra time to complete our far too intricate efforts. Alex explained the the step by step process very well with the end result being something finished and ready to take home. There were plenty of coloured yarns to choose from, so easy to change the design if you needed. We thoroughly enjoyed the day. Thanks Alex

I found the teacher rude, impatient and negative. For the price you pay this should be an exciting experience but left me rushing through so I could get it over with.

One bit of feedback would be to explain all the stages to expect at the beginning of the day, as we over run on time (yet that helped make sure they are complete and to a good standard). The rugs turned out to be really good quality, with directions from Alex. Our family would do it again with friends.

He got straight to the point and explained to us exactly what to do at each stage calmly and with enough detail that we could get on with it ourselves and get in the zone. At the end we were both surprised by how well our rugs turned out and the whole experience was perfect. would definitely reccomend to anyone!

Alex was really good at explaining what we had to do, guided us where we needed help, and left us to it when appropriate. We had so much fun tufting and then shaving to finish our rugs and absolutely loved the finished result! The venue was a little difficult to find (thanks Google) but the guy in the arts centre very kindly took us up.

He led us through how to tuft our rugs, how to keep ourselves safe, and even how to tidy up the edges to give our rugs the clean and rug-y look. I would highly recommend this class. 6 hours may seem like a long time, but the time flew by and before you know it you have crafted your own rug. Seen as though the tufting class was a gift, I had to redeem it the class through a code. This was no issue however; it was simple and easy to book a date and a time slot. Thank you to Alex, and to the others in our class to make our first tufting experience a blast.

Alex was great at explaining how to make rugs, and gave some great tips and advice as we went along. 6 hours flew by, and the money we paid was definitely worth it for some ace rugs!

Alex explained how to work the tufting gun and offered suggestions on colours etc and kept an eye on us throughout the process. After a bit of practice the gun was quite easy to use.Unfortunately there was a shortage of glue at the end so the backing didn't stick as well as it should. We were very happy with the end results.

I expected to take home another failure project but it ended really well! Tips: don't pick anything too fiddly. It's a bit like sewing but with a gun but also backwards.. what you see on the back is different to the other side and be gentle as I damaged my fabric from stabbing it too much. Once again great session! The fact I was there for just over 5 hours and it flew by! (I wanted to add a photo but the system won't let me.)

The venue was easy to find and good value for money as it’s a solid day, totalling 6 hours (could have stayed longer!). I would suggest that in all pre-course communication, information about the lack for food and facilities should be mentioned so people can bring lunch, drinks and snacks. Also, extra yarn would be great so no one has to adapt their designs due to lack of thread needed. Thanks for a unique experience!
