  • 5/5 from Therese Summersby, attended Jun 2026: Very relaxed and friendly session. Our teacher tailored the session to what the attendees wanted to know. Would recommend to others.
  • 5/5 from Bonnie Aitken, attended Feb 2026: My daughter wanted to learn to crochet, Sophie was an excellent teacher. Very knowledgeable, patient and kind. My daughter thoroughly enjoyed the workshop
  • 5/5 from Jo Manning, attended Dec 2025: Our instructor Sophie was very good. The class was well paced and she was very patient with my 7 year old daughter who was keen to learn, having tried crocheting at school. Thank you.
  • 5/5 from Lorraine Wallace, attended Nov 2025: Sophie was lovely and helped me alot. By the end of the lesson I was getting the hang of it and want to come back again
  • 5/5 from Jennie Mason, attended Oct 2025: Ellie created a supportive, relaxed atmosphere for our group of beginners. She used the given diagrams as well as her own way of making the stitches to start us off and then went to indivudals to help out as needed. If we asked for the next stage - learning how to do trebles after tackling the doubles, she suggested variations and ideas. A great introduction to crochet and her pictures of her little green frogs would inspire us to book another class. It was nice to have our own bag with an extra ball of wool and the crochet hook to take away. Thank you.
  • 5/5 from Sarah Brewer, attended Oct 2025: Enjoyed the class
  • 5/5 from Fiona Dixon, attended Oct 2025: I went with a friend to do the beginners crochet class. We were given a bag of goodies which contained: a crochet hook, 2 big balls of wool and instructions all for us to take away after the class. We learnt how to do a single, double and triple line. I had a blast and thoroughly enjoyed the whole time.
  • 5/5 from Elizabeth Barton, attended Sep 2025: Sophie was very patient and explained everything so well. There were no problems going back over things. Would recommend doing this.
  • 5/5 from Fliss Dent, attended Sep 2025: Great class but maybe do a follow up group course to learn more of the basics.
  • 1/5 from Stephanie Coxon, attended Sep 2025: Teacher clearly expert at crochet. Venue v poor - 5 of us crammed around 3 sides of a small table in a busy back office. Handouts poor - not in alignment with tutor. Products provided of poor quality - wool split easily and my hook was far too big for a beginner.
  • 5/5 from Laura Taylor, attended Aug 2025: Good class, Sophie was a great teacher and very patient with us. Very glad I did it as I now know how to do three crochet stitches, and have plenty of wool to practice.
  • 5/5 from Lyn Lloyd, attended Aug 2025: Teacher was excellent. It was so much fun
  • 4/5 from Jocelyn Smith, attended Aug 2025: I decided this year I would conquer my frustration around crocheting. So when you had a discount on courses I decided to treat myself. When I arrived at the store the lady I asked where to go was ok but firstly looked like she hadn’t a clue and did say “I don’t know what classes are running”. Thankfully Sophie our tutor was much more on the ball - friendly, good instructor and gave evening the group equal attention. Equipment was good and when the group asked to try a smaller crochet hook than the original one given Sophie got us all a smaller size. Originally wasn’t sure about class location as in the store right by a busy haberdashery but actually was ok and not too distracting. I like most that Sophie style of teaching was easy going and I think I came away with some crochet skills which I just need to practice.
  • 5/5 from Jessie Copsey, attended Jul 2025: Sophie our teacher was lovely and very knowledgeable in crochet. • 5/5 from Cathy Cox, attended Jun 2025: Excellent class with Sophie, she was very helpful with teaching us the various stages of starting and finishing our work. We learnt double and treble crochet and I now feel more confident to progress, aiming to practice tension and other stitches before starting projects. Well done Sophie

  • 5/5 from Helen Hughes, attended Nov 2024: The instructor was really friendly and helpful. She guided us through at our own pace and gave us help as we went. We didn’t feel rushed and she gave us great tips. I can’t believe how quick it went and now I feel super happy with having learnt the basics.
  • 5/5 from Debbie Eaton, attended Nov 2024: Lovely introduction to crochet very knowledgeable lady.
  • 4/5 from Deb Simmonds, attended Nov 2024: My daughter and i met Sophie last Sunday for the beginners crochet class. She was really helpful and able to answer all our questions. The materials provided were great and very suitable for us beginners. We learnt a few basic stitches to build from and it was so much better than trying to learn from scratch via the Internet. Our only reservation is that time went by so quickly and I wondered whether an extra half an hour might have been better. Luckily it was just the two of us. A larger group would not have been as good.
  • 5/5 from Adele Price, attended Oct 2024: Ellie was very patient and helpful, never made us feel silly. We enjoyed the class and just think we need to practice now
  • 5/5 from Claire Brown, attended Sep 2024: Sophie was very calm and patient while teaching us and helped us everytime we got stuck. She explained how to get started, how to change for the second line and then how to double crochet. It was great to learn a new skill. Just hoping there’s a next step up class for this skill.
  • 4/5 from Anonymised ClassBento customer, attended Sep 2024: Small class so plenty of 1.2.1. Tutor was able to work at different paces with the various attendees
  • 5/5 from Jane Ilott, attended Aug 2024: A brilliant introduction to crochet which I've tried to do many times with on-line tutorials and failed! Sophie was an excellent teacher, thank you Sophie! Fantastic value for money.
  • 5/5 from Andrea Dunne, attended Jul 2024: We had a great time at this crochet workshop. Sophie was really great with us, especially as I really had no idea what I was doing. Within in the time we accomplished a variety of stitches and I was able to ask questions and the “how to do” questions I had before attending the class. Our tutor was so knowledgable and friendly and the hour and a half flew by. Would recommend for anyone wanting to know the basics of crochet stitches, materials are all supplied.
  • 5/5 from Chloe Wallace, attended Apr 2024: Really friendly instructor who used lovely colours of yarn to use during the session. There was a younger girl there who needed a bigger hook and they catered for her with no fuss whatsoever. I even learnt how to make leg holes in crochet so I can make my cats some jumpers!

  • 4/5 from Aela-Jayne, attended Mar 2024: The only reason why I am giving it 4 instead of 5 stars is because the teacher was 30 mins late. The actual class was great! Very patient teacher, very kind, knowledgeable and patient. My daughter is only 11yrs old and was able to join in perfectly fine with the adults and has been putting what she learned in to practice ever since. We'd definitely book in for another workshop.
  • 5/5 from Susie Smith, attended Feb 2024: What a great crochet class! Sophie made sure she was covering what I needed, was very encouraging and reassuring plus it was all at the right speed - no mean feat. Thank you so much Sophie. I now feel ready to go it alone.
