My journey as a nail technician started when I completed an in-person acrylic nail course and gained my ABT-accredited certificate. From there, I spent a year working in a salon, where I was able to build my confidence, develop my skills and experience what it was really like working with clients.I then took the next step and created my own home nail salon, which I ran for two years. Having my own space taught me so much, not only about nails but also about building a business, working independently and believing in my abilities.Those experiences are a big part of why I’m now passionate about teaching. I know what it feels like to be a beginner, learning a new skill while trying to build confidence at the same time. I want my students to feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and learning at their own pace.For me, teaching nails isn’t just about showing someone how to create a beautiful set. It’s about helping beginners realise that with the right knowledge, practice and support, they really can become confident nail technicians too.
