Urban Bees protects bees in towns and cities by working with companies to create bee-friendly office rooftops and by educating people about the 270 different bee species in the UK and the simple steps we can all take to help them.
I’m an author, journalist and award-winning bee champion. Alongside rewilding corporate rooftop gardens in London to provide food, shelter, and nesting sites for bees, I’ve written four books about bees, including the bestselling, A World Without Bees, delivered a Tedx talk ‘The Urban Buzz’, and co-created a Bee Trail App.
I became interested in docile, non-aggressive solitary bees when I developed an allergic reaction to honeybee stings and gave up beekeeping to focus on the overlooked wild bees that need our help more.
