What you'll do
At this London leather work class, you'll learn to make a stitchless leather bag using beautiful vegetable-tanned leather, basic leather tools and simple metal fittings.
Guided by an experienced tutor, you'll be shown how to create your own leather bag whilst learning five basic leather working techniques.
After creating the structure of your bag, you'll customise it by choosing between two designs and selecting your preferred colours of leather and fittings.
During this leatherwork course, you'll be given a thorough introduction to:
- Different leather types.
- Essential leather tools.
You will learn these five basic leather working techniques:
- Marking leather.
- Cutting leather.
- Folding leather.
- Punching leather.
- Burnishing leather.
Once you're familiar with the tools of the trade, you'll be supported to apply the techniques you've learnt by hand-cutting and assembling your beautiful bag using screw studs.
No sewing skills or experience are required in this leatherwork class - it's entirely beginner-friendly. You'll be taken through the whole creative process step by step by your expert tutor.
At the end of this bag-making craft class in London, you'll take home a beautiful bag made entirely by you! You'll also go away with a newfound understanding of working with leather and essential leather tools.
