A lifelong love of colour and creativity sits at the heart of AnuOriginals. I have delved into colours and craft work since my childhood. To me, that passion which began in childhood — when a box of colour pencils and a blank page could keep me happily immersed for hours — decades later, ignites and drives me with the same spark. After more than a decade teaching in London as a secondary school teacher, I chose to follow my true calling: to create art and handcrafted pieces that celebrate beauty, purpose, and joy and to share them with like-minded individuals and keen learners.What began as a personal journey of rediscovery has grown into a brand shaped by care, sustainability, and storytelling. Each handcrafted leather handbag, framed artwork, and textile piece reflects my belief that creativity can be both expressive and responsible — many of my leather designs are made from carefully selected offcuts, giving new life to materials that might otherwise go to waste.My collections draw inspiration from my background, my heritage, my travels, and ongoing artistic learning — from nostalgic memories of childhood to reflections on nature and climate. These threads weave together in my work to form a tapestry of culture, colours, and values that unite craft and conscience.As a schoolteacher, I taught in 'Enrichment clubs' and held 'Staff Wellness Day' workshops. I had exhibitions of my paintings, and my works are in private collections in India, the UK, and the USA. My paintings are printed on home accessories and sold. I am collaborating with the University of East London (UEL) to do community workshops. I display and sell my products through my website www.anuoriginals.com and also do pop-ups around London in corporate offices and commercial venues. Through each creation, I hope to share with my learners and associates the same calm, warmth, and optimism that anything artisanal has always given me.I have recently started my artisanal cuisine too [AnuCuisine], which has already gained some accolades.
