What you'll do
Explore your creativity, carve a unique tarot card design, and print it onto a beautiful selection of paper at this hands-on linocut workshop in Manchester. Linocut is a fantastic technique as an introduction to printmaking and for creating bold and interesting images, lending itself perfectly to tarot designs.
Unwind, take a deep dive into your creativity and follow your intuition. In this hands-on workshop, you will be shown how to make your tarot card prints, learning how to burnish by hand with a variety of beautiful Japanese and Western papers to choose from. Your passionate teacher Rachel will guide you through every step of the way and will demonstrate each step of the process.
By the end of the class, you'll have your completed linocut tarot design along with the skills and knowledge to continue print making at home!
Disability access: There is a lift to the left of the steps coming up from Great Bridgewater Street that can bring you up one floor, the venue is then to your left.

Your teacher
I'm an artist printmaker and life model based in Manchester city centre producing personal work as well as facilitating printmaking, life drawing and painting workshops regularly in Manchester. I absolutely love watching people explore the huge variety of printmaking techniques. In addition to the pure joy of creating, making something new boosts self esteem, relieves stress and anxiety, stimulates the mind, and helps us to interact with ourselves and our community in a different way than our usual day-to-day lives. Printmaking provides the opportunity to explore and communicate our thoughts, emotions and ideas in a fun and experimental way.
I teach regular printmaking workshops at The Village Hall, Deansgate Mews as well as private 1-2-1 sessions in my personal studio at 1520 Studios. I also run workshops for other artists, corporate events and neighbourhood complexes. So Little Lion Studio is many things, but there is just me at it’s heart. Essentially, I am an artist and workshop facilitator providing a safe and encouraging space for people to come and feel comfortable creating, exploring, experimenting, talking, thinking and feeling.
