What you'll do
Looking for unique things to do in Manchester? Carve and print unique designs onto your pre-loved clothes to give them a new lease of life. In this hands-on class with Little Lion Studio, we'll show you all the basics of linocut printing on fabric.
Bring a couple of your best pre-loved items, fight back against fast fashion, and give your already-loved clothes some love by carving and printing your own unique designs onto them.
Over three hours, artist Rach Evans will guide you through designing and carving your lino blocks, and demonstrate printing so that even absolute beginners can make something incredible.
At the end of this inspiring class, take home your completed clothing prints to admire, as well as newfound confidence and skills to continue your linocut print making journey!
Disability access: There is a lift to the left of the steps coming up from Great Bridgewater Street that can bring you up one floor, the venue is then to your left.

Open to complete beginners as well as those who have some experience.

What to bring
A couple of pre-loved clothing items -- these must be cotton, polyester blends, linen, rayon, or other synthetic fibres (not suitable for nylon).

Your teacher
I'm an artist printmaker and life model based in Manchester city centre producing personal work as well as facilitating printmaking, life drawing and painting workshops regularly in Manchester. I absolutely love watching people explore the huge variety of printmaking techniques. In addition to the pure joy of creating, making something new boosts self esteem, relieves stress and anxiety, stimulates the mind, and helps us to interact with ourselves and our community in a different way than our usual day-to-day lives. Printmaking provides the opportunity to explore and communicate our thoughts, emotions and ideas in a fun and experimental way.
I teach regular printmaking workshops at The Village Hall, Deansgate Mews as well as private 1-2-1 sessions in my personal studio at 1520 Studios. I also run workshops for other artists, corporate events and neighbourhood complexes. So Little Lion Studio is many things, but there is just me at it’s heart. Essentially, I am an artist and workshop facilitator providing a safe and encouraging space for people to come and feel comfortable creating, exploring, experimenting, talking, thinking and feeling.
