Multi-Block Linocut Print Making Workshop

Create unique linocut prints at this introduction to multi-block workshop in Manchester

6.5 hours Class size 3 to 10     label £70

Looking to begin your print making journey or expand on your existing linocut skills? Join Little Lion Studio for this hands-on multi-block printing workshop in Manchester — the perfect introduction to this fun craft!

Multi-block printing uses more than one piece of lino to create your design. You can layer different colours to achieve a multi-coloured image using this technique. This workshop is ideal for those who have experience with linocut and wish to achieve more complex results. Beginners are also very welcome.

During this workshop, you will design, carve and print your design, learning how to burnish by hand with a variety of Japanese and Western papers to choose from.

At the end of the class, return home with your finished multi-block design, confidence in your newfound skills and the inspiration to continue print making!

Disability access: There is a lift to the left of the steps coming up from Great Bridgewater Street that can bring you up one floor, the venue is then to your left.

Your teacher

I'm an artist printmaker and life model based in Manchester city centre producing personal work as well as facilitating printmaking, life drawing and painting workshops regularly in Manchester. I absolutely love watching people explore the huge variety of printmaking techniques. In addition to the pure joy of creating, making something new boosts self esteem, relieves stress and anxiety, stimulates the mind, and helps us to interact with ourselves and our community in a different way than our usual day-to-day lives. Printmaking provides the opportunity to explore and communicate our thoughts, emotions and ideas in a fun and experimental way.

I teach regular printmaking workshops at The Village Hall, Deansgate Mews as well as private 1-2-1 sessions in my personal studio at 1520 Studios. I also run workshops for other artists, corporate events and neighbourhood complexes. So Little Lion Studio is many things, but there is just me at it’s heart. Essentially, I am an artist and workshop facilitator providing a safe and encouraging space for people to come and feel comfortable creating, exploring, experimenting, talking, thinking and feeling.
