Wylde Nature Explorers Craft Class (Ages 7-10)

The perfect screen-free space for curious minds to grow.

7 to 10 years     1.5 hours Class size 4 to 12 guests       £26 (PayPal Pay in 3 available)

Unleash your child’s inner artist, scientist, and explorer! Welcome to the Wylde Nature Explorers Craft Club - a drop-off weekly workshop designed specifically for curious 7 to 10-year-olds who love to create, experiment, and get hands-on with the natural world.
At this age, kids are ready to dive deeper into real artistic techniques. Moving beyond simple pasting, our older club focuses on more advanced, satisfying processes like botanical printing, natural dyeing, and structured eco-sculptures. Every single week features a completely new theme inspired by the seasons, blending fine art techniques with raw elements foraged straight from nature.
Parents, this is a drop-off session! Enjoy 1 to 1.5 hours of free time knowing your child is safe, fully engaged, and creating magnificent take-home masterpieces. We take care of all the instruction, materials, and (most importantly) the messy cleanup!
What we make (Weekly Rotating Themes) Because our club changes every week depending on the seasons and available materials, here is a sneak peek at the elevated, tactile projects your child will tackle:
Flower Pounding: Using specialised mallets to release natural pigments from fresh petals and leaves, transferring vibrant botanical prints directly onto fabric canvases.
Handmade Wildflower Paper & Botanical Pressing: Learning the ancient art of papermaking using a classic wooden deckle and frame, embedding real blue cornflowers and marigold petals right into the wet pulp.
Botanical Clay Impressions & Pendants: Rolling out air-dry clay and carefully pressing fine ferns, clovers, and field grasses into the surface to create gorgeous, detailed nature 'fossil' plaques and hangings.
Solar-Powered Sun Prints (Cyanotype / Sun Painting): Exploring science and art together by arranging fern fronds, seed pods, and twigs onto light-sensitive surfaces to create stunning, deep-contrast botanical art prints.
Laminated Flower Bookmarks & Keepsakes: Curating delicate, vibrant pressed flower layouts and carefully sealing them into durable, clear bookmarks finished with a matching satin ribbon.
Natural Tie-Dye & Plant Pigments: Discovering the magic of plant-based colours by binding, folding, and dipping fabrics into vibrant natural dyes to create beautiful, patterned textiles.
Biodiversity Architecture (Mini Bug Hotels): Become an eco-engineer for the day! Children will design and construct a functional, weather-resistant habitat for local pollinators and beneficial garden insects.
Drop-off Note: A quick sign-in sheet must be filled out by a parent/guardian upon arrival. One ticket covers full admission, all materials, and supervision for one child.
What you'll get
A premium, high-quality nature masterpiece to take home and display every single week (such as their own handmade paper sheet, a clay nature pendant, a botanical sun print, or a hand-pounded textile print).

Welcome to Wylde Nature Studio. I am a biophilic designer with over eight years of experience dedicated to bringing the outside in. My journey with botanical design began in Glasgow, where I owned and operated independent plant shops, helping city dwellers weave greenery into their daily lives. Today, my family and I live right by the water in the beautiful coastal town of Helensburgh. This slower, nature-steeped lifestyle directly inspires the studio's true passion: sharing the restorative, hands-on joy of nature-based crafting.
Workshops at Wylde Nature Studio are designed to help you slow down, unplug, and create in harmony with the seasons. Drawing inspiration from the rich woodlands and coastlines around us, our classes offer a space to explore sustainable art and traditional, earth-friendly skills.
Whether you are looking for a mindful solo activity, a unique team-building experience, or a joyful, tactile afternoon for the kids, there is a space at the table for you. Our core workshops include:
Living Art: Build your own self-sustaining ecosystems in our guided terrarium-making masterclasses, drawing on my years of botanical and plant-care expertise.
Sustainable Crafting: Learn the ancient, rhythmic arts of natural dyeing and botanical paper-making using plant-based and recycled materials.
Foraged Creations: Transform mindfully gathered local elements into beautiful seasonal wreaths and wild, sculptural art pieces.
Fermentation Basics: Discover the science, flavor, and art of brewing your own delicious kombucha at home.
Wild Kids: Engaging, messy, and highly creative nature-art classes designed to help little ones explore the outdoors through their imagination and tactile play.
Every class provides a welcoming, beginner-friendly, and highly supportive environment. Materials are sustainably sourced, naturally derived, or responsibly foraged locally. You will leave the studio not just with a beautiful finished piece or a new skill, but with a renewed, tangible connection to the wild world around us.
