Learn how to make your very own signet ring using the ancient art of lost wax casting—a technique first developed in the Bronze Age and refined over millennia into the precision process used today.This beginner-friendly class introduces you to the sculptural side of jewellery making. You’ll work with jewellers’ wax, a unique medium that allows for intricate carving, engraving, and shaping. With expert guidance, you’ll design and sculpt your own signet ring, which will then be cast in silver and returned to you as a finished piece.Whether you’re new to jewellery making or looking to expand your skills, this session offers a fresh and creative approach to ring design.

What you'll get
The cost of all the materials used and casting is included in the class price! When your piece has been cast in silver and cleaned up, you can collect it from our adjoining gallery or have it posted to you for a small fee. Good fun and refreshments are also provided!

This class is perfect for beginners who have no jewellery-making experience and intermediates who want to explore a new medium!
What to bring
You only need to bring yourself, but for health and safety reasons, please wear long hair tied up and avoid open-toed shoes or loose-fitting clothing. It is also advised that jewellery should not be worn either, as it can get damaged by handling other metals.
