What you'll do

In this inspiring 3 hour workshop, you'll learn the art of wax carving to create your very own bespoke silver ring! This class is perfect for beginners looking to dip their toes into the world of jewellery making. Don't worry if you've never heard of wax carving before – we'll guide you through every step of the process in a warm and uplifting environment.

During the class, you'll be introduced to different wax carving techniques and tools, including how to carve and sculpt the wax to create beautiful designs. We'll also cover the basics of lost wax casting, ensuring that your finished silver ring is both unique and wearable.

Lisa will be on hand to provide guidance and support throughout the workshop, making sure you feel comfortable and confident in your abilities. Using high-quality materials and tools, you'll discover the joy that comes with transforming a simple piece of wax into a wearable silver ring. Your wax version will be sent off to be cast in silver, and available to collect in a few weeks time, ready for you to show off and wear at home.

What you'll get

All equipment, tools & materials are included, along with 1 standard ring, cast in sterling silver, available to collect from The Workshop when it’s ready in around 3 weeks time.

You’ll get 2 waxes during the session, 1 to practice on & 1 to cast. You can always have both cast for an additional £40. Chunky rings will add additional costs &, as casts are charged by weight, pricing can vary depending on daily metal prices.

If you’d like your ring posted out to you, an additional fee might be charged.
Snacks & refreshments are also included.

If there's time, or you’re a super-fast carver, you are more than welcome to purchase more wax to create even more fantastic pieces. Any additional pieces requiring casting will be charged separately.

What to bring

You’ll be in a working studio, with jewellers’ tools, so please make sure you wear practical clothing & glasses if you need them. You’ll be provided with an apron, so you don’t end up covered in wax dust, & other protective gear, if needed.

Don’t forget, if you already have some ideas, bring ‘em along too!

Hi, my name's Lisa & I'm from Paisley in Scotland and I've been making silver and gold jewellery now for a decade.

After spending years working in London with no real idea of what I wanted to do with the rest of my career, I took an evening class in jewellery making with a fabulous jeweller friend and discovered the whole process of creating, and making, a piece of jewellery from start to finish, was not only incredibly satisfying, but extremely exciting. Following a college course, I now work for myself back home in Scotland, alongside 3 other hugely talented jewellery makers in a shared workshop in my home town.

Whether it's just scratching a creative urge, you're interested in trying something fun & new, or even expanding some existing knowledge, I'm excited to pass on some jewellery skills that I've learned along the way.
