In this relaxed, beginner-friendly lino printing workshop in London at Hill Station Café, you'll learn the fundamentals of lino printing: how to use carving tools safely, ink your block, and create crisp, satisfying prints by hand.
You'll leave with a small collection of greeting cards featuring your own original design. No experience is needed, and you don't need to be able to draw either. I'll have optional templates ready if you'd prefer not to design from scratch.
What to expect:
  • Explore a selection of beautiful papers and discover how texture and colour can transform your prints.
  • A full introduction to lino printing tools, materials and carving techniques.
  • All materials provided, including lino, inks, tools, greeting cards and envelopes.
  • Step-by-step guidance throughout, making it perfect for complete beginners.
  • Take home four beautifully hand-printed greeting cards featuring your own design.
  • Enjoy a relaxed and welcoming creative atmosphere at Hill Station Café (they have amazing cakes!!)
By the end of the workshop, you'll have learned the essentials of lino printing, created a set of handmade greeting cards, and gained the confidence to continue printing at home.

Hi, I’m Mags, a designer, printmaker, and educator based in London. I run Galley, my creative studio where I make handprinted cards, art prints, and stationery inspired by colour, craft, and slow living.
My background is in graphic design, but I fell in love with lino printing; the rhythm of carving, inky hands, the satisfying reveal of each print. Now I also teach others how to create their own pieces, combining design thinking with traditional printmaking techniques.
Join me for one of my relaxed, hands-on sessions where we carve, print, and enjoy the process of making something beautifully imperfect, one print at a time.
