Join a Hobbycraft Colleague in store for a One-to-one and ask any questions you have about crochet. Stuck on a project? Need help with understanding a pattern? Trying to get to grips with a new stitch? Our craft expert will share tips and techniques tailored to you.

This is suitable for crocheters looking for that next step on from our Beginners' Workshops, providing the opportunity to get all the answers you need. It’s a great way to gain confidence with your craft, troubleshoot any problems you’re having with your current project in an easy, direct way or learn about stitches you’re not as confident with yet.

During the booking process, you’ll have the opportunity to let your Artisan know what you would like to focus on during the session. They’ll be able to prepare for a personalised workshop that answers all of your questions.

You’re sure to walk away a crochet pro, ready to take your designs to a new level!

Bring a friend: You can now use the £5 add-on feature at checkout to invite a friend along with you, whether you’re working on a project together or you’d simply prefer having some company during the session. Your friend can enjoy any demonstrations given, and they are free to ask questions, but they will not receive the same practical, direct one-to-one support as is offered to the lead participant.

Keeping everyone safe

At Hobbycraft, we want our workshops to be enjoyable, inclusive, and safe for everyone. Some workshops are suitable for children, and where this is the case, a parent or legal guardian is responsible for supervising their child at all times unless the workshop is clearly stated as suitable for independent attendance. Our colleagues and instructors are there to guide the activity and support a safe environment, and if any concerns about safety or wellbeing arise during a workshop, these should be raised with a member of staff straight away.

  • 5/5 from Caroline Hamilton, attended Jul 2026: I've been a knitter for years but I haveNEVER EVER been able to crochet. I've tried books, I've tried online videos but they didn't work, and I just needed someone patient and knowledgable to give me a one-to-one session. Bonnie was amazing. Within 1 hour she had taught me how to hold the hook and yarn, how to chain (cast on), and how to make double and triple crochet stitches. This is exactly what I needed! Thank you.
  • 5/5 from Lisa Mannings, attended May 2026: Gareth was brilliant patient and knowledgable my grandaughter increased her confidence in her one hour 1-1 crochet work shop and is inspired to start more new projects and return for another workshop when she she needs more guidance
  • 5/5 from Danielle Bream, attended Feb 2025: A great workshop. Very helpful and patient. My daughter enjoyed it and learnt a lot. Having a 1:1 session was very useful.
  • 5/5 from Susan Cross, attended Jan 2025: My friend and I had a lovely time with Bonny attempting to improve our crochet skills. She was really helpful and patient. Will probably need another lesson soon but she has encouraged us to practice.
  • 5/5 from Sue Wilson, attended Jan 2025: This was part of my 10 year old granddaughter's Christmas present as she wanted to join me and her mum learning to crochet and we are only just learning ourselves. Bonnie was brilliant, started her on the absolute basics, was very patient, clear and expert in what she does. It was difficult to book what was right for her as we wanted a 1:1 to give her the most practical guide. ClassBento was not the easiest site to use and several visits were needed to the store to confirm time as always a different person answered the emails. She loved it and we are now looking to book a group session for all 3 of us next time. However, next time once we sorted a date we will go to the store to check before booking online.
  • 5/5 from Sue Bowen, attended Oct 2024: A very helpful and informative session. The teacher was lovely and I learned some new techniques.
  • 5/5 from Carol Burrows, attended Apr 2024: I had a great time, revisited some crochet stitch and learnt some new stitches too. The tutor was lovely and enthusiastic and would certainly book another session at Hobbycraft to further my crocheting journey.
  • 5/5 from Lucy Caterer Class For Emily Caterer, attended Jan 2024: Julia was friendly and patient and explained herself clearly to my 11 year old daughter having a 1 to 1 crochet lesson. I felt she learnt alot in the hour and appreciated being stopped to check her work was correct and recovering the steps to assist in remembering the foundation processes for chain stitches, double stitch and treble stitch. Thank you we would recommend Julia.
  • 5/5 from Sheila Hougham, attended Nov 2023: Brilliant teacher she was very helpful as I have arthritic fingers and she offered alternative ways to make it easier.
  • 5/5 from Kathleen E Glendenning, attended Nov 2023: Great class and Julia was very patient and helpful. She was able to help me with 2 of my queries which was really informative. Looking forward to the next one
