The largest arts and crafts retailer in the UK, passion for crafting is at the heart of everything Hobbycraft does. This is reflected in the creative and knowledgeable colleagues you’ll meet in stores, who are always on hand to help, as well as the vast range of carefully selected products for all facets of crafting.

Throughout the year, Hobbycraft host a variety of workshops in stores and online, designed to give everyone the opportunity to master a new craft or refine a long-time favourite.


In Stores and Online

Hobbycraft workshops are hosted online and in stores across the UK, powered by ClassBento.

Store workshops will be available at Hobbycraft stores, so you can enjoy crafting along at your local store. Social distancing measures will be in place to keep you safe during your workshop.

Online workshops can be enjoyed from the comfort of your home. You will need a device that is compatible with Zoom to access the live online workshop.

Some of the workshops available include a craft kit so that you’ll have everything you need to craft along, while others may not feature this. Details of whether a craft kit is included, and what comes inside it, will be shown on the workshop listing page.


Workshop Hosts

Most of our workshops are designed by Hobbycraft Artisans, craft experts from Hobbycraft stores across the UK. They will be bringing their expertise in specific areas of craft to create workshops that show participants new skills and inspire future projects.

The workshops you attend in person will be hosted and led by colleagues from each Hobbycraft store. Online workshops will be hosted by the Hobbycraft Artisans.

There will also be some workshops designed and led by professional artists, designers and crafters. Details about this will be shown on the workshop listing when relevant.


Craft Kit Delivery

Craft kits should arrive 3-5 days prior to your workshop date. The price of your craft kit and the delivery is included in the price of your workshop. Craft kits will be sent with Royal Mail or DPD.

If there are any issues with your craft kit, please contact Customer Services.


Cancellations and Rescheduling

In-Store & Online Workshops can be cancelled or rescheduled up to 7 days prior to the date of your workshop. To do this, use the link in your confirmation email (at the bottom) to view your booking details page and find options to cancel or reschedule.



Frequently Asked Questions


Can I buy a gift card for workshops? How do they work?

Yes, gift cards are available. Though they can be used for both online and in-store workshops, they can only be redeemed online on the Hobbycraft workshops site and cannot be used directly in Hobbycraft stores or on Hobbycraft.co.uk.
After purchase, you will be emailed a printable gift voucher immediately to share with your recipient.
Please note, workshop gift cards are not interchangeable with standard Hobbycraft gift cards.


Can I cancel and get a refund?

You can cancel or reschedule up to 7 days prior to the date of your workshop.


Can I book another person onto the event?

Yes, you can book more people for an event but you will have to do this separately by going through the booking process again.


Where is my craft kit? It has not arrived/ it has arrived with damaged or missing items.

In the event that your craft kit has not arrived, if you have damaged or missing items or you think you have been sent the incorrect craft kit, please contact Customer Services at least 3 days before the class.


Can I swap the workshop I’ve booked to a different date?

Bookings can be cancelled or rescheduled up to 7 days prior to the date of your workshop. To do this, use the ‘Manage My Booking’ link in your confirmation email to view your booking details page and find options to cancel or reschedule.


Can I change to a different workshop?

We are unable to move you to a different workshop but can cancel your booking up to 7 days prior to the date of your workshop, to allow you to book another class.


I am a carer. Do I need to book and pay for a place?

If you are supervising, you will not need to book a separate place. However, for store workshops we advise you to check with the store due to space. If you wish to craft along during the workshop, you will need to book a place. Most workshop bookings include a craft kit that you will need to participate.


I am running late. Can I still join?

We recommend that every participant aims to arrive 10 minutes prior to the listed start time of the workshops. If you’re late, you may still be able to join. This is at the discretion of the workshop host.


I missed the class, what can I do?

Our team might be able to find out if you can join another workshop. Please contact Hobbycraft Customer Services.


Can I swap the items included in my craft kit in store?

As these items have been chosen specifically for the project, they can’t be exchanged, but please feel free to purchase alternatives separately if you wish.


I have not received my booking confirmation. How can I get this?

Please contact Hobbycraft Customer Services and our team will look to help you here.


Do I need to provide my booking reference when going to the event?

No, you will only need to give your name.


How can I pay for a workshop?

You can pay online by card, PayPal or a voucher code. ClassBento accepts Mastercard, Visa and AMEX.


Why does it say ‘ClassBento’ on my bank statement?

Our workshops are powered by the ClassBento booking service.


Will my contact details be given to the courier?

As well as your address, our courier Royal Mail or DPD needs your phone number to provide delivery updates and to contact you if there are any issues with the delivery. This information will not be used for any other purpose.


Can I bring my child with me to the workshop?

All workshops are intended for adults only, except for those specified as kids’ workshops.


Do I need to download anything prior to my online workshop? Do I need a camera?

You will need access to Zoom. You can participate with or without your camera on, but we recommend you have your camera on to get the most out of your craft-along workshop.


I can no longer attend. Can I transfer my place to a friend?

It may be best to cancel and allow the friend to book the workshop separately. For further details, contact Customer Services and our team will look to help you.


How many people are attending each in-store workshops?

Due to the changing Covid guidelines there are varying limits to the number of customers that can attend an in-store workshop to enable social distancing.

I already have some of the items included in the craft kit. Can I use these instead and request a smaller kit?

Sorry, our craft kit contents cannot be amended.


Do I need a machine for a Cricut or sewing machine workshops?

To get the most out of a machine-based workshop, we would recommend having access to a machine. However, customers will be able to learn and benefit from the workshop without a machine.


I’ve booked a space on a Cricut or sewing in-store workshop. Do I need to take my own to my chosen store or can I use one of theirs?

When a sewing or Cricut machine is required for an in-store workshop, customers will be able to use a Hobbycraft machine during their workshop.


I have a child booked to attend an in-store workshop. Does a parent or guardian need to attend to supervise?

Yes, a responsible parent or guardian must accompany a child for our kids’ workshops. However, a ticket is not required unless they wish to craft along and have their own craft kit.


Can under 18’s attend an adult workshop?

Anyone under 18 wishing to attend an adult workshops would need permission from their parent/guardian before attending a Hobbycraft workshop, and adult supervision will be required.


Can an adult book a space on a kids’ workshop?

No, our kids’ workshops are only suitable for the age range confirmed in the event description.


Private Group Workshops: Are there any Hidden Charges?

No, everything is included in the workshop price. There is no hidden cost involved! The teaching, postage and products are all included.


Private Group Workshops: Is Inhouse and online the same price?

Yes, everything is done by workshop price.


Private Group Workshops: Can I have an inhouse workshop?

Of course, we have artisans up and down the country happy to help. We do have a minimum requirement in order for you to have an in-house workshop opposed to online . We can only do an in-house workshop if you have 15 or more guests.


Private Group Workshops: Is there a minimum amount?

For a private workshop, we require 3+ guests. As said above, we require 15+ for an in-house workshop where we come to your office or venue.


Private Group Workshops: Personalised workshop?

Depending on what workshop you choose, we can talk about personalisation. If your company colours are blue and red, we can try our best to incorporate that into our workshops. Just let the [email protected] team know when organ


Private Group Workshops: Can I get a refund if my numbers change?

As long as its more than 7 days before your workshops, or as long as we have not shipped your boxes to you, then you can.


What is a workshop?

Hobbycraft workshops are designed to build your confidence as you learn new craft techniques, as well as inspire your creativity. Each workshop is led by an expert Hobbycraft Artisan who guides you through the project, as well as answering questions and sharing ideas. Our workshops come with craft kits that provide the materials required to craft along, delivered to your door or provided in store.


What is a one-to-one workshop?

These workshops are currently available for sewing, knitcraft and digital crafting categories. Stuck on a project? Need help understanding a pattern? Trying to get to grips with a new material or machine? Our one-to-ones provide the opportunity to request more specific guidance from one of our expert Artisans, with tips and techniques tailored to you. Find a date online or book a private request in store at a date and time that suits you.  Bring a friend: You can now use the £5 add-on feature at checkout to invite a friend along with you, whether you’re working on a project together or you’d simply prefer having some company during the session. Your friend can enjoy any demonstrations given and they are free to ask questions, but they will not receive the same practical, direct one-to-one support as is offered to the lead participant.


What is a kids’ workshop?

Our kids’ workshops are the perfect way to spark children’s creativity in a fun, simple way. All our kids’ workshops are led by one of our expert Hobbycraft colleagues in store only! By the end of the workshop, little ones will have a completed a project that they can take home.


What is an online class?

Our online classes offer a classic webinar format designed to help you develop your crafting skills, with guidance from one of our expert Hobbycraft Artisans. Follow along with your own materials or book the class with a craft kit included.  The class gives you the chance to watch a demonstration of the project, while also being able to ask questions in the chat function. 


What is a Hobbycraft Plus seminar?

We have developed a series of online seminars in partnership with Untld Project, a PR, marketing and social media agency specialising in supporting creative, crafty and independent brands. Each seminar is 1.5 hours, with an hour of content, followed by time for a Q&A. Each seminar costs £30 or is FREE if using a Hobbycraft Plus seminar voucher and will help you harness your entrepreneurship and creativity.

What is a private request?

Have a group of five or more and fancy a workshop just for you and your friends? Send us a private request with your available dates, workshop of choice and group numbers – we will then contact you on how we can accommodate your request.


What happens on a waitlist?

Join a waitlist for a workshop, as soon as new dates are added you will be notified by the registered email address.
