You’ll start by weighing out your clay and giving it a little love to get it ready for the wheel. Don’t worry — we’ll guide you every step of the way.

Learn the process of centring your clay on the wheel — the essential first step toward making pottery that’s strong, balanced, and beautiful.

Learn how to pull, stretch and shape your spinning clay into bowls, mugs, or cylinders.

Your chosen pieces can be professionally glazed and fired for an additional fee of £10 only per item. We’ll take care of firing and glazing it for you — just pick from one of our two finishes: BLUE or CLEAR.

Leave the Mess, Take the Memories

We’ll glaze and fire your masterpiece in our kiln, ready for pickup (or postage) within two months. It’ll be food-safe, dishwasher-safe, and a daily reminder of your hands-on creativity.

Our relaxed 2-hour wheel throwing class is perfect for complete beginners. Guided step-by-step by our expert ceramicists, you’ll learn the foundations of wheel throwing before getting stuck in and creating your own cup, bowl or unique ceramic vessel.

At the end of the session, select your favourite pieces to be professionally glazed and kiln-fired for £10 per piece (depending on the size- £15 or £20 for bigger pots ) Choose from our signature Cobalt Blue or Clear stoneware glaze.

Finished ceramics are food-safe, microwave-safe and dishwasher-safe, and are usually ready for collection within 4–5 weeks.

Our instructor, Jess, gave a quick demo on the basics of centreing and working with the clay - after that, it was all hands on deck (or pottery wheel i should say) and you were free to spin, mould and shape pretty much whatever you wanted, with Jess on hand to provide further help where required. The groups are small (8-10) which allowed Jess to keep an eye on how everyone was doing. In truth, i could have spent another 2 hours at the wheel as the session goes so quickly. Participants are given the option to have their work glazed and fired in the kiln at an extra cost - these items are ready to collect (or delivered) a few weeks after the event. Would recommend for any age group and really good value for money :)

The beginner session was great, easy to understand, teacher was friendly, wonderful and helpful. Taught us the skills and explained the logic behind it well. It was a lot to take on for someone who's completely new about pottery making. I wish the session could be a little bit longer though, like 2.5 hours.

Very hands-on (forgive the pun), providing help for everyone. She was patient and we got individual attention, even as part of a large group. The 2hr class also provided plenty time to practice making shapes and getting a feel for the wheel. I even managed to create a decent pot and vase by the end of the session! Highly recommend if you're looking for a creative activity with friends!

3/5 from Shannon Farley, attended Sep 2026: The pottery itself was fun and enjoyable, but the class started late (11:15 rather than 11), and we had to spend fifteen minutes at the end of the session cleaning up like school children, not what I would expect from this kind of experience. Meant we got a lot less time making pottery than I had anticipated. Poor hand washing facilities in the venue also made it difficult to clean ourselves up after the session.
