  • 5/5 from Anonymised ClassBento customer, attended Dec 2024: This was a really useful guide to interpreting patterns. Hannah presented the session in a really clear way, exchanging between filming the items on her workbench and talking to us "face to face" - it was very professionally done (no wobbling or view obscured by fingers - unlike cycle maintenance clips!). the session provided a much needed glossary and explanation of the terms used and Hannah indicated techniques that we could tackle later having acquired more experience and used miniature scale pattern layouts which were easier to view. I would also like to commend Hannah for her professionalism and personable approach. I'm really looking forward to making a blouse now. Thank you.

  • 3/5 from Anonymised ClassBento customer, attended Aug 2024: It was ok, but very much talking through the instructions of the packet. Helpful in parts. Would have liked more guidance on how to follow the pattern so could begin making a garment. Perhaps supply a basic pattern and then ‘work through’ together (not necessarily completely make) and show some steps that each stage of pattern to what the finished garment would look like. Was a bit disappointed! It got to the hour and instructor sort of stopped at time rather than feeling like it was finished. Not sure it was worth the money especially as instructor kept saying they would email info afterwards (none received), would have been helpful to have had in advance rather than having to peer at screen.

The hour went very fast but I learnt so much. I have a lot more confidence now and will be off to make my first item from a sewing pattern! I would recommend to anyone who is a little daunted with a sewing pattern and all the information they contain.
  • 5/5 from Teresa Prew, attended Jul 2024: Fantastic class for an absolute beginner. Such a thorough explanation of all things needed to gain confidence in a new hobby. Thank you so much.
