  • 5/5 from Kayleigh Sebastiani, attended Oct 2026: The workshop was fab - I was lucky enough to have a 1-2-1 session and came away having learned the single, double, and triple crochet, as well as the magic circle!
  • 5/5 from Lesley Scribbins, attended Aug 2025: I attended a one on one beginners crochet class with Alice. She was very knowledgable and very clear in explaining to a beginner like me. Well worth the money I will definitely attend again.
  • 5/5 from Rebecca Spicer-Thomas, attended May 2025: This face to face workshop was informal and enjoyable. As a complete crochet begginer, I came away having mastered 1 strict and on the way to knowing a second. Dan was knowledgeable warm and friendly, and to top it off he was a fellow left hander so being able to demonstrate my way was invaluable. I'd definitely sign up for another workshop
  • 5/5 from Jessie Read, attended Feb 2025: Hey, it was great! The teacher was great and made it all accessible. I may go again with my kiddo. Thanks
  • 5/5 from Allison Cooper, attended Feb 2025: Just spent a lovely 90 minutes learning to crochet. Dan was friendly and knowledgeable and helped me sort out issues that I have had in the past when trying to learn to crochet. As with other workshops I have done, Hobbycraft supplied good materials to use during the class and afterwards. Many thanks.

  • 5/5 from Rhea, attended Dec 2024: So much fun and really helped me understand how to crochet because I couldn’t wrap my head around it before.
  • 5/5 from Kim Smith, attended Dec 2024: Had a fantastic time, my poor teacher was really patient with me. I learnt a lot and would really recommend doing the crochet session for beginners.

  • 5/5 from Tia Howarth, attended Nov 2024: Had a great time thank you
  • 5/5 from Janet Marshall, attended Nov 2024: El was lovely, very patient with me, and helped me make a good (but messy) start! Had such a good laugh with her, she is so chilled, but an excellent teacher! Would definitely do another workshop with her!
  • 5/5 from Jayne Ebrey, attended Oct 2024: Lovely instructor, good class I was able to gain some knowledge about crochet to work on and practice at home.
  • 5/5 from Jodie Lee, attended Oct 2024: Dan, our instructor was amazingly patient and knowledgeable. You should pay Dan more! I will definitely be back to do more courses.
  • 4/5 from Helen Lynbeck, attended Oct 2024: Enjoyed the beginners crochet workshop, good to have a small class size of 3 to have more individual attention. Teacher very patient as 2 of us were pure beginners! Lovely wool provided and crochet hook with written instructions to take home. Learned the basic chain stitch, double crochet and triple crochet stitch. Lots of tips on how to practice and progress. Enjoyed learning a new skill.
  • 5/5 from Anonymised ClassBento customer, attended Sep 2024: Lovely guy, nice kit and learned a lot. Would recommend the course. The time could be a bit longer but probably enough for majority of people.
  • 5/5 from Radhika Patel, attended Sep 2024: We had a crotchet workshop with Becky and Hobbycraft Newport - Becky was fantastic and really patient with us as beginners! We had so much fun and took a great skill away with us.
  • 5/5 from Charlotte Cavill, attended Jun 2024: Brilliant lesson! Lots learned and a very helpful teacher. Would recommend this class to a friend.
  • 5/5 from Jennifer, attended Mar 2024: Had a really lovely time! Dan was very patient and very knowledgeable. Would highly recommend a workshop.
  • 4/5 from Lynette Hood, attended Feb 2024: Lovely, helpful and patient teacher. All materials provided were good quality and the price was fair. Unfortunately, the printed instructions, which I needed alongside the teacher’s instructions, only used images for a right-handed person and I found them too confusing to follow. I didn’t really get anywhere with learning to crotchet as a result.
  • 5/5 from Joanne May, attended Jan 2024: Teacher was amazing, so patient. We were provided with more than enough materials to practice at home. Able to learn all the basic stitches that we would need. Great value for money. Would highly recommend.
  • 5/5 from Angie Sykes, attended Dec 2023: It was really good fun, Dan was great and very patient. One to one was a lovely idea
  • 5/5 from Stephanie, attended Oct 2023: I attended a beginners crochet class a few days ago at the Newport store and was a little nervous. I am SO glad I plucked up the courage to go as its given me SO much confidence to keep going with my crochet journey! The teachers name was Dan and he was SO lovely, he took the time to ensure we understood each stitch and was so patient and kind. He even made sure we had a little time at the end to answer any other crochet related questions and I really appreciated that as crochet can be quite tricky! All the staff at the Newport store are great and on hand to answer any questions you may have. We were provided with quality materials and even a little tote bag to take away - so cute! I'd recommend the classes to anyone and even better better with the 20% off at the moment! I will be booking more for sure x
  • 5/5 from Lynsey Rees, attended Oct 2023: Lovely session, DAn is a really good teacher, learnt more in this class than have doing hours of online tutorials, provided with all equipment needed and good bag a really nice touch, will definitely be back for more classes
  • 5/5 from Claire Prosser, attended Jan 2023: Our instructor was brilliant, very patient and showed us some different techniques. I booked this as a present for my Mum and she loved it too.
  • 5/5 from Irram Irshad, attended Jan 2023: Our teacher was Alice, she was kind, patient and friendly. Enjoyed the class but would like more with her to continue to learn stitches and develop skills. Also would like to do Push Needle with her, but currently no classes in the Newport or Cardiff branches, would love to learn this skill.
  • 4/5 from Helen Penycate, attended Dec 2022: I decided to book this workshop with my 8yr old daughter. She’d been wanting to learn and I thought it could be something different for us to do together. We both loved it and Alice the teacher was amazing. Very patient and encouraging. Everyone in the class had plenty of her time for one-to-one help and guidance and she adjusted her teaching to each of our ability. We all came away having succeeded in making and learning something new. The only thing that stops me giving this experience 5 stars was the temperature of the building. Too cold. I believe the heating system was currently out of action. Once this is fixed I would definitely recommend this experience to anyone wanting to learn crochet.
  • 5/5 from Debbie Doherty, attended Oct 2022: Alice is a very good teacher and very patient. I would highly recommend her for any craft tutorial.
  • 5/5 from Ruth Bird, attended Oct 2022: I really enjoyed my learning experience, the young teacher was most helpful and experienced. I am now able to achieve a style of crochet I have tried to master for several years. The kit given was quite good, quality of yarn was a bit disappointing, but ok. Would definitely try another workshop. Thank you, Hobbycraft!
  • 5/5 from Jessica Williams, attended Sep 2022: Fantastic class, teacher was very attentive and personable. Kit also was very good value for money.
  • 4/5 from Gayle Spillane, attended Sep 2022: Tutor was great and materials lovely to learn with. Didn't learn enough though. Will probably go again
  • 5/5 from Elaine Middleton, attended Aug 2022: Really enjoyed my tuition. Can now start to go further with my crochet. Lovely teacher made me feel at ease. Would recommend. Thank you.
