In this Ceramic Trinket Dish Workshop, you’ll design and create your own small ceramic dish using shape cutters or hand-built techniques.
This workshop focuses on playful shapes and personal designs. You can choose from a range of cutters, or be guided step by step to cut and shape your own design from clay slabs. In this workshop, you will:
  • Cut out your chosen shape and transform it into a small dish
  • Learn simple hand-building techniques to create raised edges and gentle curves
  • Add small decorative elements, such as tiny animals or shapes, to highlight your design
  • Paint your piece with underglaze colours to bring your ideas to life
This workshop is beginner-friendly and relaxed, with plenty of guidance throughout. No previous ceramic experience is needed.
Your finished ceramics will be professionally fired after the workshop. They will be ready to collect from the shop in approximately 3–4 weeks. If you’d prefer them posted to you, UK postage is available for an additional £6. You’ll finish the day feeling relaxed, boosted by the fun of hands-on making, and proud of the unique piece you’ve created.

Hi, I’m Kiu — the artist behind artLaiga Studio.
I run relaxed, beginner-friendly creative workshops across Leeds and West Yorkshire, where enjoying the process is just as important as what you make.
Before founding artLaiga Studio, I spent over 10 years working in art education, helping people discover the joy of making through clear, step-by-step guidance.
To me, workshops are about more than learning a craft. They’re an opportunity to slow down, make personal choices, and create something meaningful with your own hands — no artistic experience needed. My sessions are calm, welcoming, and pressure-free, with plenty of creative freedom and encouragement along the way.
Alongside teaching, I create small-batch ceramic homeware and accessories under artLaiga, combining original illustrations, Word Art, and ceramic collage. I love creating pieces that people can use, enjoy, and live with every day — little companions that bring warmth, humour, and a smile to ordinary moments. Selected works are stocked at ChillChillCats Goodies & Craftroom in Leeds Corn Exchange.
I also offer workshops for private groups, schools, community organisations, hen parties, and corporate events across Leeds and West Yorkshire.
