A wonderful introduction to fabric painting, this is a great way to get inspired for autumn décor! Discover how easy it is to personalise your own plush pumpkins your way with the magic of fabric paints.

You’ll be able to practise mark making exercises and learn how to draw the designs, before applying your new techniques to transform the blank plush base. The workshop will be led by a Hobbycraft Artisan who’ll provide handy tips along the way.

As well as learning how to create charming autumn fungai and foliage, you’ll also gain an insight into how to prepare the paints for use and how to create a strong graphic style with them.

At the end of the workshop, you’ll have a transformed plush pumpkin that’s ready to brighten up your home this autumn! If you wish to add even more details, you can use the craft kit to continue painting.

 *Price includes £3 delivery.

Your class will take place on Zoom, our online workshop platform. There’s no need to download anything—simply click the link provided in your booking confirmation to join the session at the scheduled time.

You’ll be sent a follow-up video after your workshop,   which will be live for 12 months afterwards to guide you in your own time.

This workshop is also available as a private workshop for group bookings of 8+.

  • 5/5 from Anna, attended Oct 2026: I had so much fun with this workshop! The kit arrived in time and had way more included than I was expecting. Our lovely artisan Gisela explained everything really clearly, the camera set up was perfect too. It’s inspired me to paint even more pumpkins I can’t wait to do another workshop!
  • 5/5 from Jenni, attended Oct 2026: Beautifully paced, with all the materials arriving some days before. Reassured by the promise of a video that I could find my own pace, possibly completing later if I preferred. I can see where I might do things differently next time and have already secured the materials to make three more as Halloween gifts. A meditative pursuit!
  • 5/5 from Hermione, attended Oct 2026: Really enjoyed this workshop, the design comes together really nicely. Love the attention to detail with things like the gold dimensional paint to give it an extra pop
  • 5/5 from Diane, attended Oct 2026: This was a really great workshop. It would have helped to know all the things needed that weren't in the kit beforehand, eg. a fine pen, water pot, kitchen roll, but even so it was great fun and my result was amazing. The artisan is very encouraging, shows and explains things in great detail and made it very clear what to do. Thank you.
  • 5/5 from Sheila, attended Oct 2026: Really enjoyed this workshop. Instruction very clear and well paced enabling me to produce painted pumpkin that I am very happy with. I will be painting more. Very cheerful helpful artisan
  • 5/5 from Lynne M Hutchins, attended Sep 2026: I loved this demonstration. Gisele made it so easy to follow. Her instructions were very clear and I could work at my own pace. Every class be it zoom or in a store have been so enjoyable and I have learnt so many new crafts and the prices are well worth every penny. Looking forward to my next class. Thank you.
  • 5/5 from Angelina Lam, attended Sep 2026: The instructions were very clear. Could follow easily. The teacher was nice and answered every question.
  • 5/5 from Anonymised ClassBento customer, attended Sep 2026: The instructions given for the workshop were clear and easy to follow. The instructor gave lots of useful tips and was very lovely. And the supplies for the workshop arrived in a timely manner. My only gripe, was that it would've nice to have the outline image included in the pre-prep materials given. Otherwise, I have no complaints. I am also looking forward to finishing the last touches of my painted mushrooms using the recording, as I do need to wait for paint to finish drying first. Overall was a very fun experience and would definitely sign up for another workshop!
  • 5/5 from Yvonne, attended Oct 2025: This was a very chilled workshop and I really enjoyed painting the main sunflower. The gold paint really brought the flower to life at the end. I am looking forward to seeing the video to see what else I could paint to decorate the pumpkin further. The kit arrived in plenty of time and had good quality materials.
  • 5/5 from Katie Turnbull, attended Oct 2025: Really autumnal, fun little class. Definitely recommend Chrissie qas great and very energetic kept everyone engaged.
  • 5/5 from Karyn Shields, attended Oct 2025: I really enjoyed doing this course and the trainer was very good indeed, and explained everything really well, with helpful hints and tips too. This was my first online craft course I enjoyed it so much I will be doing more! I needed a little extra time to finish off at the end but that was fine, and I am very happy with my results! :D
  • 5/5 from Wendy Caygill, attended Oct 2025: I enjoyed your class yesterday, however, just looking at the prerecorded session I noted that I received the wrong paint brushes “Detail Brush Set” 10 pack, all very fine brushes of which I’m not sure I would have much use - in fact I only used one for the black outlines. I'm quite disappointed as the pack that I saw in the recording would be much more versatile for me.
  • 4/5 from Selma Strawbridge, attended Oct 2025: i enjoyed this workshop, the stages were explained carefully. I decided to do the first sections of the sunflower and then watch the rest of the workshop to give the paint time to dry before doing the other bits.
  • 4/5 from Anonymised ClassBento customer, attended Oct 2025: It was very good. As the teacher explained everything well so that I was able to follow along at home.
  • 4/5 from Ann Hurley, attended Oct 2025: Alison very friendly and relaxed but as she never said anything about us painting and never checked in as to how we were getting on I didn't actually start. For me it was an observation session so a long time to just sit! I tried to give feedback from her link but it kept saying "not found". Would have been more helpful to have given the full list of required resources from the beginning. A little disappointing. Looking forward to the video so I can start my project.
  • 1/5 from Agnieszka, attended Oct 2025: Joined zoom before 5pm and then 6pm and host has not started the meeting?!!!!no contact from anyone or anything! Lost my money!
  • 5/5 from Paula Williams, attended Sep 2025: I loved this class. Easy to follow & made up with my pumpkin. I can make my own now.
  • 5/5 from Mrs Janet Lott, attended Sep 2025: It was a very well explained workshop and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I am very pleased with my results as fabric painting was a first for me. I will finish it at my leisure once the first layer of paint has dried. It has made me want to try other hobbies after this one. Thank you, great tuition.
  • 5/5 from Tracy Burns, attended Sep 2025: I loved this workshop, a very relaxed session. It was good to have a longer workshop than usual as it didn’t feel like a race to keep up and I love the results!
  • 5/5 from Debbie Callway, attended Sep 2025: Great class and tutor. Nice pace I was able to complete during the 90minutes. Delighted with the result I will be painting more pumpkins. I’ve done many workshops with Hobbycraft they never disappoint. Fantastic.
  • 5/5 from Rebecca, attended Sep 2025: An excellent class. Very well paced and everyone has lovely painted pumpkins at the end of it. I would highly recommend!
  • 5/5 from Linda Evans, attended Sep 2025: So much fun and the tutor was great. All supplies needed for the project was supplied and all included for the price. The tutor explained everything slowly, demonstrating the methods and didn't rush. I'm so pleased with the end result.
  • 5/5 from Helen Cutler, attended Sep 2025: Great fun, i had a great time being introduced to fabric painting -Thankyou Hannah i really enjoyed the session
  • 5/5 from Ruth Driscoll, attended Sep 2025: Another fun session, again, we'll presented, clear instructions at a good pace. I found it quite difficult but managed a reasonable result.
  • 5/5 from Sammy Mallin, attended Sep 2025: Very good class, enjoyed it and recommend. Thought it could slightly longer to take more time on the design and painting
  • 5/5 from Anonymised ClassBento customer, attended Sep 2025: I really enjoyed this workshop. Even as a complete beginner at fabric painting, I was able to follow along and create my own beautifully decorated pumpkin. The equipment included in the kit was good quality and easy to use. I feel confident that I can continue building my fabric painting skills outside of the workshop.
  • 5/5 from Dawn Adams, attended Sep 2025: I’m definitely no picasso and I admit most of my painting is on walls and woodwork but I really enjoyed this class today. Very different to the arts and crafting I’ve tried to date and would recommend it to anyone.
  • 5/5 from Amanda Graham, attended Sep 2025: Great class. I watched it as I was not able t have a go at the time, but now will watch video again today and set to painting my pumpkin which I am looking forward to.. The class was great with clear instructions and demonstrations in a relaxed manner
  • 4/5 from Lib Mountford, attended Sep 2025: Fabric painting was new to me and enjoyed it. Tutor gave information as we went along techniques, paint colour and brush sizes. Felt it was rushed not the tutors fault but getting all of it done in the time was a big ask and honing skills will have to follow.
