Growing up, my love for Indian cooking blossomed in our family kitchen. Each spice my parents used wasn’t just an ingredient—it was magic. I was fascinated by how a pinch of cumin or a dash of turmeric could transform simple ingredients into vibrant, flavourful meals. Those early memories instilled in me a deep passion for Indian cuisine and the joy it brings.
My journey took a significant turn when I won a local cooking competition as a teenager. That moment sparked my desire to learn everything I could about food. I went on to study catering and began a career as a food technology teacher. Over the years, I’ve built a solid foundation of experience and qualifications, which I’m proud to share with others.
One of the most exciting moments of my career was being a featured guest on Colors TV, where I shared my love for Indian cooking with a wider audience. My first business, MistryKitchen, started humbly—with me selling homemade curries to parents in my children’s school playground in Sydney. What began as a small venture grew into something special, with take-home curries at farmers’ markets, supper clubs, and live cooking demonstrations.
Now, I channel all of that experience and passion into the Spice Tin Recipe Club. My online Indian Cooking course. My mission is simple: to make Indian cooking approachable, exciting, and accessible for everyone. Through step-by-step recipes, engaging video tutorials, and a supportive community, I want to give you the confidence to explore the world of spices and create memorable meals in your own kitchen.
