What you'll do
This Valentine's Day treat your partner to an afternoon of creating with clay on the wheels, we'll also provide nibbles and Prosecco to set the mood and make it a fun and relaxed afternoon for you and your loved one! With a maximum of 8 guests, we will work on the wheels in two groups of 4. Each group will get 2 x 30 min sessions on the wheels, with time in between to snack, top up your glasses and add finishing touches to your pieces.We'll make multiple items during the 3 hours, but at the end of the class you'll be asked to choose your best 2 to be fired and glazed after you leave. Items take 3-4 weeks before they're ready to be picked up from us and if you live further afield we can post them out to you for £5.This class has been structured specifically for couples, so please only book as 2! If you're looking for an activity to do with 2+ people, we have space at our 'Pottery Workshop: Sculpt, Throw and Sip' on Friday 13th February, 6:30pm - 9:30pm.

What to bring
- Wear everyday clothes that wash easily, tie long hair back, and it's best to have short nails.
- We'll provide aprons to keep you clean and if you're heading out after, you can wipe away any small splashes with a damp cloth.

It's around 20 minutes walk from Manchester Piccadilly, 10 minutes by bus, or 5 minutes by taxi. If you've been to a gig at the Apollo, or played football at the 5-a-side pitches nearby, you might know that parking in the area is tricky at all times! There is a 24hr staffed car park on site (it's charged at a flat rate of £6 CASH ONLY) as well as a single yellow lines on Higher Ardwick, and unrestricted parking on Temperance Street and Great Western Street. Starling Bike stations are also located right outside on Chancellor Lane.

My name is Georgie Dixon, I'm a ceramics artist based in Manchester and I've taught pottery wheel classes and hand-building workshops for over 10 years in Brighton, Melbourne, Australia and Manchester. I have recently opened Familia Studios, a pottery school in Ardwick, Manchester. We host 2 hour wheel intro classes, 6-week course, a Friday night Ceramics Social and seasonal one-off workshops centred around specific themes. The friendly space at Familia Studios is big, open and thoughtfully designed - perfect for a party or special day out.
