When creating hand-built relief or indented tiles, the process typically involves shaping the clay by hand to create the desired relief or indented patterns. This can be achieved by pressing objects or tools into the clay to create texture and depth or by building up the clay through relief work.
Once the tiles are formed, they are left to dry before being fired in our kiln. After firing, the tiles will be dip-glazed (the colour of your choice) and posted to your door within 4-8 weeks. Teaching this process involves demonstrating hand-building techniques, creating patterns, and/or incorporating pictures into the design.
  • By providing step-by-step guidance and hands-on practise, you can learn to create your own unique set of 4 tiles with intricate patterns and images, all taught by our experienced tutors.
