The Mindful Brush

I'm a watercolour artist and art instructor based just outside Glasgow, and I get genuinely excited about helping people discover what they can do with a brush and a bit of colour — no matter where they're starting from.My own journey with watercolour began four years ago, and I was hooked almost instantly. I trained in Fine Art in Montpellier, France, and came to teaching later, after years spent in front-of-house and customer service roles. That background actually turned out to be the perfect foundation for teaching adults: I know how to put nervous beginners at ease and make a room feel welcoming from the first minute.I started teaching private watercolour workshops just over eighteen months ago, and it quickly became clear this was what I wanted to be doing. There's nothing quite like watching someone who's convinced they "can't draw" produce a painting they're genuinely proud of. Since then I've expanded into structured Foundation and Development watercolour classes for complete beginners through to intermediate painters, and I also run Sip & Paint events, where the focus is less on technique and more on relaxing, laughing, and creating something with a glass in hand alongside people who might become friends.Whether you're picking up a paintbrush for the first time or looking to build on skills you already have, I'll meet you exactly where you are. My classes are all about patience, encouragement, and the confidence that comes from realising art doesn't have to be perfect to be joyful.
