Textural Landscape Weaving Workshop

Translate a landscape into a textured wall hanging in Basingstoke!

2 hours Class size 3 to 6 guests       £40 (PayPal Pay in 3 available)

Transform a landscape into a woven tapestry in this creative, texture-led weaving workshop in Basingstoke. Using a mix of deadstock and unexpected materials, you’ll reinterpret a sunset, waterfall, or landscape scene into a tactile woven artwork.
This workshop is welcoming and accessible, with no previous weaving experience needed. The focus is on experimentation and play, not traditional rules or perfection. Your loom will be fully set up and ready for you when you arrive, so you can dive straight into the making and enjoy the process.
What to expect:
  • Work on a pre-set loom to create a woven tapestry.
  • Use deadstock materials including yarns, fabrics, paper, plastics, and found elements.
  • Explore texture and colour rather than traditional weaving structures.
  • Learn techniques to build depth and movement in your weave.
  • Create a finished piece with a neat edge and hanging yarn.
  • Bring a landscape or inspiration image to guide your colour and texture choices.
By the end of the workshop, you’ll leave with a completed woven tapestry inspired by your chosen landscape, along with new creative techniques and confidence to keep experimenting with weaving in your own work!
What you'll get
You will be provided with a range of materials to choose from, and when you have finished your weaving, I will stitch a banner onto the top with a string for hanging attached.

Hello, I'm Annabel!
I am a weaver and I love to share the knowledge that I have with all you creatives!
I have just finished my degree in woven textiles where my final major project was centred around minibeasts and surrounding children with more imagery of their local wildlife to further support their ongoing learning.
