Textile Printing Workshop: Cushion Cover

Whether you're trying printing for the first time or expanding your skills and knowledge, you'll love learning how to block print at this workshop in Glasgow. The class will cover block carving, pattern design and printing on textiles.Your experienced tutor Kate will share her sources of inspiration using fabric samples and books from her personal collection. During the class, you’ll design a pattern, carve a block and print your own cushion cover. This is a creative workshop using the ancient craft of block printing, while also giving you plenty of opportunity to experiment. As well as straightforward repeats, you can have a go at masking, overlaps, and printing with everyday objects. Kate will also share her knowledge of inks and fabrics and point you in the direction of ethically produced and more sustainable materials.Once the class is over, you'll leave with a hand-printed organic cotton cushion cover, a carved block and the know-how to continue your block printing adventure!
