  • 5/5 from Jennie Summers, attended Jan 2026: I didn’t know what to expect with this class but as always Ben was knowledgeable helpful and informative with the process. I was really chuffed with my prints & would certainly recommend tbh is class & Ben as a teacher too!
  • 5/5 from Nola McGaul, attended Jan 2026: I thoroughly enjoyed learning the new technique of dry point with Ben. Two of my friends came and both also really enjoyed the session. Ben is an excellent t and patient teacher and created a relaxed atmosphere. It was sociable as there were several others taking part who I had not met before. We learnt from each other too. If you made a mistake you didn’t feel embarrassed. I would recommend the class and look forward to attending more myself.
  • 5/5 from Katie Kershaw, attended Jan 2026: Absolutely loved the dry point workshop!! Was so interesting to learn a different medium and skill. Ben is a wonderful teacher; very relaxed, knowledgeable and easy going. He makes a point of getting to everyone in the workshop and is very encouraging. Would highly recommend this workshop (and any of Bens workshops actually as I've done a few!).

Believe it or not, print-making saved my life!
A few years ago, my life looked pretty normal: I was a Dad, a garden designer, and a keen walker. Suddenly everything changed. One day I simply couldn’t get off the sitting-room floor. I’d had a nasty bug and the next thing I knew: I was diagnosed with ME/CFS.
For a long time, things were pretty tough, but as the weeks passed, I began to discover painting and printmaking. And as the weeks turned to months I was making more and more art, and steadily feeling better.
Print-making was a refuge: a place to get better from. As I recovered my health I realised I wanted to share the magic of making things with other people; and the dream of Hope Press was born!
Everyone could do with more space in their life, more time for creativity, more peace and flow. I now run a variety of classes and workshops in printmaking – including a course for people with illnesses like mine – I hope you'll find something for you.
