Summer Printmaking Course for Kids

Give your creative kids a professional artistic experience this summer. The Hope Press summer school offers 5-star teaching, exciting techniques, all in a real working artist's studio. Nothing here is dumbed down: your child will use proper tools and materials and leave with loads of high-quality prints and products to be proud of.When I was a kid, I absolutely loathed the idea of going to a summer school or holiday activity—not least because I was ready for a break from all the social pressures of term time. My aim is to make the summer school a very gentle and welcoming place for the students. There are going to be no more than six; we have a fantastic assistant helping in the studio who adds to the welcoming environment, and the emphasis is on enjoying ourselves and discovering new techniques: there's no pressure to make "great work"!Both my assistant and I are enhanced DBS-checked, and with a maximum of 6 children and two adults in the studio, your child will get plenty of individual attention and support throughout the day. All techniques are non-toxic.Day 1:

• Screenprinting T-shirts
• Cyanotype from nature

Day 2:

• Two-colour lino cut card designs
• Expressive monoprint

Day 3:

• Screenprinting door signs/wall art
• Tetrapak animal printing

They'll leave with a body of finished prints and hopefully a new love of making things with their hands.This is an unusual opportunity for any children with a keen interest in visual arts.
