Explore Manchester through your lensThis is a practical, outdoor workshop, so you'll spend the session exploring the city and putting techniques into practice rather than sitting through a formal photography lesson.I'll share tips and demonstrate techniques as we go, with plenty of time for you to experiment, ask questions and discover what works for you.You might find yourself photographing reflections in a shop window, the patterns of festive lights, architectural details, market scenes or little moments that other people walk straight past.You don't need to be an expert. Sometimes all it takes is a change of angle, a little patience or a better understanding of the light to transform an ordinary photograph into something special.Who is this workshop for?Anyone who enjoys taking photographs and wants to get more creative!It's ideal for beginners, smartphone photographers, hobbyists and anyone who loves Manchester during the festive season.You can come along on your own, bring a friend or enjoy it as a creative date. It's also a lovely experience gift for someone who enjoys photography, travel or exploring the city.No previous photography experience is needed. Just bring your smartphone or camera, wrap up warm and come ready to explore.Learn with a professional photographerI'm Priti Shikotra, a Manchester-based professional photographer with over 10 years of experience working across music, portraits, events and commercial photography.My work has appeared in Kerrang! and NME, and I've worked with organisations including the British Museum, Manchester Museum and Factory International.I'm passionate about helping people discover their own creative eye and understand how to make more of the camera they already have.My teaching style is friendly, conversational and practical. There's no pressure to get the perfect shot, and no complicated technical jargon — just helpful advice, creative experimentation and plenty of encouragement.A small-group photography experiencePublic sessions are limited to a maximum of four participants, giving you the opportunity to ask questions, receive individual guidance and practise at your own pace.You'll also receive a PDF guide after the workshop, so you can revisit the techniques and continue developing your photography skills.Private group sessions are available too, making this a fun seasonal activity for friends, families, birthdays and team get-togethers.Come and see Manchester in a new light this Christmas.
