  • 5/5 from David Price, attended Aug 2026: A brilliant day with Jeanette on the Oxford Smartphone Safari. She was friendly, knowledgeable, and made everything easy to understand, whatever your level of experience. We all picked up lots of practical tips that we're already using, and the follow-up notes were excellent. Highly recommended for anyone wanting to get more out of their phone camera.

  • 5/5 from Gemma Campbell, attended Feb 2026: Enjoyed a wonderful couple of hours learning how to take better photos with my smartphone. As a keen photographer with a 'normal' camera, I was really pleased to come away from the class with lots of new tips and techniques for using my phone camera. It was a lovely group and our instructor, Gail, was brilliant! Highly recommend.
  • 5/5 from Ian Hindmarch, attended Feb 2026: We had a great time, Gail is a very good teacher!
  • 4/5 from Tracey May, attended Feb 2026: Myself and my daughter had a great day. Gail was really friendly and provided some great tips we were totally unaware our phone cameras could do. We will enjoy going out and about and putting these tips into practice and will look out for future workshops in different locations.
  • 5/5 from Lucie Abeler-Doerner, attended Dec 2025: Our 14-year old son said: "Much better than expected"
  • 5/5 from Claire Winkworth, attended Jul 2025: Really interesting. Gail was lovely and showed us all sorts of tips and tricks. I'm looking forward to her notes so we can keep practicing
  • 5/5 from Kathy Gray, attended Feb 2025: Gail was a fabulous ‘teacher’. The group learn’t so much in only 2 hours. There are so many editing features available but Gail very simply explained how to use them to create great looking shots. Using a puddle to create a mirror picture was the icing on the cake and my favourite from today.
  • 5/5 from Hazel Geatches, attended Feb 2025: I really enjoyed the safari - Gail made it fun and informative and we got to try out several techniques along the way and then finished off with some useful editing tips.
  • 5/5 from Liang Guo, attended Feb 2025: Had an enjoyable walk around with Gail in the central Oxford. Impressed by Gail's passion on taking creative photos using a phone, had learned ample news tricks.
  • 5/5 from Sean O'Sullivan, attended Feb 2025: I was one of a group of 4 on today's safari/workshop in Oxford. Despite feeling reasonably familiar with my iPhone camera tools, I learnt loads and the advice and quick tips flowed from Gail's friendly and attentive guidance before we even moved from the meeting spot. Gail fostered a nice collaborative atmosphere amongst us, and you could tell that she was guiding us towards quirky (and very effective) ways of taking our photos from the reactions of passers-by! One guy who wondered what on earth we were doing moving around to get just the right angle for a photo of the Sheldonian reflected in a window of Blackwells Bookshop asked why we weren't just turning around and taking a direct photo. Guess you had to be there really! I'd strongly recommend the workshop, and it makes a great present.
  • 5/5 from Tom, attended Nov 2024: This was a fab birthday present - a two hour class on tips and tricks when taking photos with a smartphone. I had the privilege of it being a one to one session, and Gail was really helpful, knowledgable, attentive and inventive with her ideas. Captured some great photos of Oxford in autumn using interesting angles, reflections, exposures and lenses. And it was good fun!
  • 4/5 from David Deal, attended Jul 2024: Very enjoyable and informative. This course is a fun way of exploring the amazing possibilities a smart phone offers to folk who are interested in exploring photography. Strongly recommend this course.
  • 5/5 from Jackie Tapper, attended Jan 2024: Gail was friendly, approachable and knowledgeable. She showed us a totally different perspective on how to take photos, using our existing phones but getting so much more from them. We thoroughly enjoyed this course with her, in particular the idea of using reflective surfaces and different angles.
