We booked a private class for our group of friends and had a great time. Steph was brilliant, showing us what to do and hanging all our baubles to dry. She had mixed up the marbling bath before we arrived, so we could start as soon as we got our kits.
The kits had everything we needed, although it may have worked better if the colours had been stronger and included gold or silver, as they were for Christmas baubles. Although attractive, the baubles seem quite pastel for Christmas. We all felt they would need some sparkle added. We also found the plastic cups provided were rather narrow for the larger baubles, so a square tub would have worked better.
Thank you to Steph and the team at Basingstoke. We felt very welcome and loved our time there. Some of the friends had not been to the Basingstoke store before, but I'm sure they will be back again now

This was my second Hobbycraft workshop, and again, I really enjoyed it. It's always great to get the workshop box with everything inside that you need to get started, plus a bit more. The brush pens are very easy to use, and having example lettering on guideline paper makes trying out and learning the letters so much easier. My instructor was Lucy, who explained the technique, then demonstrated how to form each letter for me as we moved through the alphabet, patiently helping me as I tried to make my letters look like the examples. I had thought that it would be possible to learn brush lettering watching videos, but having the two way conversation with Lucy and getting feedback on my technique made such a difference. It also made the workshop fun. Thank you for all your help and tips Lucy.

I really enjoyed my fluid art workshop at the Basingstoke store. I have never tried this before and am not very good at art, but my instructor Lucy showed me examples that she had done and explained how to use the paints and oil and what affects they would have. Lucy carefully guided me, allowing me to make my own choices and design. I am very happy with the outcome All the paints and tools I needed were included in the workshop in a starter kit and I was able to take this home at the end. Lucy also kindly offered to keep my paintings at the store while they dried so they were not spoilt on the way home. I’m looking forward to picking them up in a few days.
