In our Botanical Screen Printing Workshop, you'll dive into the art of screen printing, learning how to create beautiful prints inspired by seasonal foliage. Throughout the class, you'll discover how to design bold stencils featuring elements like leaves, seed pods, and flower heads, and transform them into striking prints.
Don't worry if you're new to screen printing—this workshop is designed for beginners, and our experienced instructor will guide you every step of the way.
During the class, you will:
  • Learn how to cut your stencil from Mylar
  • Have hands-on experience using a vacuum screen printing press
  • Explore registration techniques for perfectly aligned colour layers
  • Produce a stunning two-colour print
As you progress through the workshop, you'll witness your designs come to life on the paper. By the end of the session, you'll walk away with an edition of four prints on lovely, heavy art paper.

  • 5/5 from Katherine Smith, attended Feb 2026: Ben was really personable and helpful. The class was designed for us to design, cut and print out own finished articles, but he was there to steer us along the way. 10/10, we'll be back!
  • 5/5 from Paula Shepherd, attended Oct 2025: I can’t say enough good things about the whole experience. Booking was quick and easy with a good range of options both during the week and at weekends. This was a surprise day out for my wife’s birthday but it was a lovely surprise for both of us when Ben started our morning with freshly baked pastries - my wife’s with a sparkler! I think this says a lot about Ben’s character- kind and thoughtful in everything he does. He and my wife share a CFS/ME diagnosis so naturally chatted about their experiences while we began our designs. Through these conversations we learnt how Ben has centred his press around being as accessible, calming and supportive as possible. It really shows in both his approach and workshop. From his warm welcome, gentle guidance, choice of music, to his enthusiasm and encouragement Ben has created a nurturing and relaxing environment where we immediately felt at ease. Ben’s tuition was pitched perfectly. His judged well the balance between allowing us to create and offering guidance when needed. He is generous with both his time and resources and we were so happy with our resulting pieces. I think it speaks volumes that we’d planned our next visit before we left, and given the range of media and classes on offer it’s fair to say we’re likely to become regulars. I can’t recommend Hope Press enough. Don’t hesitate, you’ll have an amazing experience!

Believe it or not, print-making saved my life!
A few years ago, my life looked pretty normal: I was a Dad, a garden designer, and a keen walker. Suddenly everything changed. One day I simply couldn’t get off the sitting-room floor. I’d had a nasty bug and the next thing I knew: I was diagnosed with ME/CFS.
For a long time, things were pretty tough, but as the weeks passed, I began to discover painting and printmaking. And as the weeks turned to months I was making more and more art, and steadily feeling better.
Print-making was a refuge: a place to get better from. As I recovered my health I realised I wanted to share the magic of making things with other people; and the dream of Hope Press was born!
Everyone could do with more space in their life, more time for creativity, more peace and flow. I now run a variety of classes and workshops in printmaking – including a course for people with illnesses like mine – I hope you'll find something for you.
