Sculpture Workshop: Little Architect Happy Place

Take part in a hands-on architecture and sculpture class in Manchester.

1.5 hours Class size 1 to 15 guests       £16

What makes a space feel good to be in? That's the question at the heart of this wonderful inter-generational workshop from Rachel Newton, Senior Lecturer at Manchester School of Architecture and founder of social enterprise Little Architect.
Little Architect is all about opening up the world of architecture to children of all backgrounds – showing them how the built environment shapes our lives and how they could one day help shape it too. In this craft-based session, Rachel brings that mission to Didsbury Arts Festival in the most hands-on way possible.
Inspired by the beautiful stained glass of the studio at Withington Baths, you'll explore how architecture affects our wellbeing before working with Rachel to create your own Bauhaus-inspired sculpture – a colourful, personal vision of your happy space.
All abilities are welcome, and everything is provided on the day. Worth knowing that the session involves scissors, so younger children may need a little support along the way.
Recommended for ages 6 and up. Children must be accompanied by an adult – only the kids need a ticket.
