If you're looking for a fun and festive creative activity for the kids this Christmas, this holiday t-shirt screen printing workshop in Macclesfield and South Manchester is the perfect treat.
Using simple hand-cut stencils, your child will print their own Christmas-themed design onto a bright red or green organic t-shirt using the magical process of silk-screen printing. The session begins with playful warm-up activities to spark ideas – from snowflakes to reindeer, baubles to cheeky elves! Children will then learn how to design effective stencils, before moving on to thoughtful drawing and careful cutting.
Once their stencil is ready, it’s time to choose an ink colour and learn how to use the screen and squeegee to pull their print. The result? A bold, festive design they’ll be proud to wear throughout the season.
Each t-shirt will be touch-dry and ready to take home at the end of the session, becoming a fun and long-lasting keepsake of their creativity. To make the print permanent, simply iron the back of the t-shirt for a couple of minutes at home. If you bring along an extra plain t-shirt, they can even print their design a second time at no extra cost.
Parents are welcome to join in and print their own Christmas tee, or stay and watch. There are also workstations available if you'd like to bring a book or laptop.

All Hope Press classes take place in our beautiful studio in Bollington, located in the historic Adelphi Mill. The studio is light, warm and comfortable, designed to be a calm and welcoming space to make art. It is fully equipped for printmaking, with a range of high-end equipment including etching presses and a screen-printing table. Tea and coffee-making facilities are available, with space to rest and take a breather whenever needed.

Hope Press is based in Adelphi Mill in Bollington What3Words: ///survivor.breathing.being. Parking at the Mill on weekends and evenings is easy, with plenty of spaces available in the main car park. Parking between 9-5, Monday to Thursday is often very limited (Fridays are better). There is a disabled space in the main mill carpark (what3words ///scorpions.stall.revision). There is often parking available in Clough Bank carpark, along Clough Bank itself and in the Adelphi Mill overspill carpark that can be reached from Clough Bank (left just before the large, red brick cotton warehouse).

Believe it or not, print-making saved my life!
A few years ago, my life looked pretty normal: I was a Dad, a garden designer, and a keen walker. Suddenly everything changed. One day I simply couldn’t get off the sitting-room floor. I’d had a nasty bug and the next thing I knew: I was diagnosed with ME/CFS.
For a long time, things were pretty tough, but as the weeks passed, I began to discover painting and printmaking. And as the weeks turned to months I was making more and more art, and steadily feeling better.
Print-making was a refuge: a place to get better from. As I recovered my health I realised I wanted to share the magic of making things with other people; and the dream of Hope Press was born!
Everyone could do with more space in their life, more time for creativity, more peace and flow. I now run a variety of classes and workshops in printmaking – including a course for people with illnesses like mine – I hope you'll find something for you.
