Re-use, Re-cycle, Re-invent Jewellery Workshop

Upcycle your old jewellery into new pieces!

5 hours

Class size 1 to 4 (public classes), 1 to 6
£110 (PayPal Pay in 3 available)

This is a fun and relaxed workshop where you can bring along all of your old jewellery to reinvent into something wearable.
We all have jewellery that's broken, singular earrings, or things we just don't wear anymore. Perhaps you have found objects that you want to turn into a piece of jewellery? Now is the chance to give them a new lease of life!
The course will start by looking through what you bring and discussing design ideas for how to reinvent it. There will be a selection of old and broken jewellery here too for you to look through. We will then get to work reinventing it into something new. Basic materials will be provided, with the option of purchasing extra.

Hi, my name is Loucinda, and I am an award-winning jeweller and silversmith with a passion for passing on my skills, knowledge, and love for making to anyone who will listen! Teaching is a huge passion of mine, and I love getting to meet such a variety of people from all ages and backgrounds. I have taught in a range of places such as South Hill Park Arts Centre, Marlborough Summer School, and Oxford College, and now teach from both my own workshop and mobile.
The Metal Shed Workshop by Loucinda offers a range of jewellery and silversmithing workshops and classes both from her workshop and mobile, covering Berkshire, Wiltshire, and Oxfordshire.
Location-
The converted shipping container workshop, AKA 'The Metal Shed, ' is situated in Lambourn, Berkshire, also known as the 'Valley of the Racehorse.' The workshop has a relaxed atmosphere and is well-equipped. The space allows for up to 4 students at a time or private groups of up to 6.
Experience-
Loucinda has been teaching jewellery and silversmithing for many years at both South Hill Park in Bracknell, Oxford City College, and Marlborough Summer School before creating her own teaching space.
What's on offer?
Weekly classes
Suited for both beginners and more experienced makers. For complete beginners, a project will be given to help teach the basic skills needed for your jewellery-making journey. After this, you are encouraged to come up with your own designs. For each term, students will be given a new brief/theme or project which they can choose to take part in alongside making their own work. Previous projects have included upcycling old silver, making a locket, and tube setting.
One-off workshops
Suitable for those who want an introduction to jewellery and metalwork but don't want to commit to regular classes. The half-day and one-day workshops include various themes such as making a silver ring, making a copper rose, and Christmas-themed workshops. All of these workshops will include basic materials. During the summer, we offer a range of more in-depth 2-day courses.
Children's Workshops/Parties
With a full DBS certificate, Loucinda runs workshops and parties from the age of 6+, with a range of packages on offer. See the link below for more information.
Private parties
For those looking for something different to do for a special occasion, I offer a range of workshops and classes from both the Metal Shed and at your home or specific venue. From birthday to hen parties, I have a range of options to suit.
