What you'll do
A fun and creative workshop to create your own enamelled copper jewellery to take home with you at the end of the session. This taster class is all about experimenting with the basics of enamelling with powders and watching the textures and patterns evolve.
You will select and prepare your copper shapes and then add layers of sifted coloured glass powders (a steady hand is useful), firing each layer of each piece directly in an 800°C kiln for a few minutes (safety equipment available). I will show you various options for adding some details e.g. sgraffito, stencils, inclusions, etc., and you can choose what colour combinations and finishes you'd like. At the end, you can add a jump ring and take your pieces home with you. (Optional: soft faux leather necklaces are available to purchase on the day for £2 each).
The cost of the workshop includes all materials and equipment required (please bring your own face mask, a proper dust face mask is even better), and you will each be able to make 3 items of jewellery (either 3 pendants or 2 pendants and 1 pair of earrings).

No previous experience or artistic ability is needed!
What you'll get
All materials and equipment are provided for you to use, and you will take home three items of jewellery.
What to bring
A face mask or dust mask is necessary when using powders.

I've been teaching glass fusing for over 5 years and love sharing my passion for glass and helping people make beautiful pieces of glass they can be proud to display at home! More recently I've started teaching enamelling jewellery classes which is limited to 3 people at a time for safety reasons.
My husband, Chris, teaches pottery classes and we also offer combined pottery & glass half-day or whole-day courses at our workshops in Worcester.
