Private Beginners Enamelling Jewellery Workshop

A fun and creative workshop to create your own enamelled copper jewellery to take home with you at the end of the session. This taster class is all about experimenting with the basics of enamelling with powders and watching the textures and patterns evolve.You will select and prepare your copper shapes and then add layers of sifted coloured glass powders (a steady hand is useful), firing each layer of each piece directly in an 800°C kiln for a few minutes (safety equipment available). I will show you various options for adding some details e.g. sgraffito, stencils, inclusions, etc., and you can choose what colour combinations and finishes you'd like. At the end, you can add a jump ring and take your pieces home with you. (Optional: soft faux leather necklaces are available to purchase on the day for £2 each).The cost of the workshop includes all materials and equipment required (I provide basic face masks but please bring your own DIY dust face mask if you want), and you will each be able to make 2-3 items of jewellery (either pendants or earrings size).
