Located at a beautiful, airy artists’ studio in the city (or just outside if you've booked a pottery class in Bath), your Bristol pottery workshop will begin with a quick meet and greet with your instructor and your fellow students. Then, it’s sleeves up, aprons on and time to get those hands dirty! What you should try for your first pottery class

With all the options available for Bristol pottery classes, you might be looking for inspiration for what to make for your first class. For your initial session, we suggest creating a simple yet beautiful piece - a ceramic mug. It's the perfect start for beginners as it introduces you to core techniques such as shaping, glazing and finishing in an exciting, hands-on way. Plus, not only will you experience the joy of moulding clay into a functional object, but once complete, you'll have a unique handmade mug to take home - proof of your newfound skill and a symbol of your creative journey.

As well as making beautiful things, did you know that spending a little time getting creative is great for your physical and mental health? Getting stuck into a pottery class is a soothing but active way to switch off, relax and escape the stresses and strains of everyday life – you’ll be able to knead and smooth your cares away from the comfort of a beautiful artists’ studio in the city.

Not only will you leave feeling completely rejuvenated, you’ll have had a physical workout too! Pottery and clay making are great for keeping those joints supple and wrists strong, as the repetitive kneading and moulding actions really help to keep them in shape. So whether you’re wheel throwing, hand building or ceramic painting, you can count on our pottery classes in Bristol to boost your wellbeing!
