What you'll do
Unleash your creativity and discover a new DIY craft at this fun and relaxing pottery workshop in Hertfordshire.
Learn how to make your own pottery vase with support and guidance from a talented ceramicist in a peaceful garden studio in Hitchin (just half an hour away from London).
In this pottery workshop, you will use fun and easy coil hand-building methods to make your creation. Don't worry if you're new to DIY pottery, the simple techniques you will learn in the class will help you to create something you can be proud of. Plus, your friendly teacher will be on-hand whenever you need support.
You will have the option to use white clay and then paint what you make using a huge selection of beautiful glazes. Following your pottery making class, your creations will be glazed in a clear gloss and fired ready to be collected at a later date from the studio or posted for an extra postage fee.
Alternatively, you can choose to use air drying clay which will not need to be fired and can then be taken away with you on the day. Air drying clay dries hard, can be later painted using acrylic paint and will be decorative only (for dried or artificial flowers) whereas with white clay the pots will become pottery following firing and can be used functionally.
Whether you're looking for a fun pottery class to enjoy as a team-building activity with your co-workers, a fun birthday party activity or a creative experience to let loose with your friends and family, you'll walk away with some newfound pottery skills and your very own unique vase!

Hi, I'm Carole and I teach pottery classes in my beautiful tranquil garden studio. I am joined by my daughter and pottery teacher colleague Talia. From pottery parties for adults and children to corporate team building events, my fun and engaging workshops are a wonderful way to let loose and get creative together.
We are passionate about all things pottery, from hand-building to wheel throwing, and want everyone and anyone interested, to enjoy working with this wonderful art form and craft!
