We were able to find a venue very local to us that did food as well so we were able to make it a good event. Carmen was great at teaching us what to do, her instructions were clear and she would repeat herself as often as necessary for everyone and give individual assistance when required. Everyone was very friendly and chatty so whilst there weren't many of us, we felt part of a larger group. Some of the group were first timers but loved it and are already talking about booking another one!

The Cunning Man is a great venue. The group tonight were very energetic it makes it more fun when we can laugh at ourselves. Joyful

• 5/5 from Kaz Clarke, attended Nov 2025: The occasion was a revisit to this subject having completed the wolf many, many years ago and was not happy with my results (the leader on the previous occasion was not Kharmen) I'm happy with my second attempt and really enjoy having Kharmen lead our group. It was a very small class and although it is better with less numbers eight people was lower than I have ever experienced before. having said that 20 in a class can be far too crowded... Venue is one of my favourites...

What did you do or learn? - Three hours to create a wonderful painting involves a lot of concentration, but we had loads of fun and we were both delighted with the end result. What was your teacher like? - Clear, concise, very helpful. No one in the room got into any trouble and no one broke down in a heap of anxiety, so she really managed to put everyone at ease. Everyone in the class could keep up with her. What did you like most? - The end result, I impressed myself. You have to trust the process so half way through you will probably feel like it's not going all that well, but trust the process! It'll turn our perfect.

We’ve been to a couple of these events with Kharmen and although we are definitely not painters we always end up with a great result. Would recommend this event. Venue is lovely- but the sessions are so popular they are outgrowing the space a bit now. Ideal for friends and individuals as everyone is so kind and welcoming
